Located near the fabled ski resort town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Croda Da Lago is accessible via an 8 mi. (12.5 km) round-trip trek of moderate difficulty, which affords an elevation gain of about 2.6k ft. or around 800 m. The Dolomite Mountains are part of the Southern Limestone Alps.
