The Republic of Cyprus is one of two Mediterranean Island nations of Southern Europe, the other being Malta. One of the largest islands in the great sea, Cyprus has gone from being primarily known for its copper mines to becoming a more significant tourist destination in recent years. With mountain peaks of almost 2k meters (6.4k ft), stunning blue lagoons and pristine beaches, famous churches and monasteries, and numerous shipwrecks and iconic lighthouses, the island has great beauty, perhaps even more so when viewed from a bird's eye perspective. Cyprus has some incredible sights to see especially when seen from a drone. AirVūz contributor Picture Element takes us on a flight with his DJI Mavic Air above the beaches that lead up to brilliantly blue waves of the Mediterranean Sea. Throughout this reel there are some elements of surprise like a waterfall tucked away in a mossy forest and a rusty shipwreck out on the open sea water. Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea (after Sicily and Sardinia) but has historically been much less well known.

Contributor and pilot Pedrolftvares used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to create this beautiful aerial tour of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. Ride along for the bird's eye views from across this amazing place, the third-largest island in the Mediterranean and the largest in the eastern side of the great sea. You'll see the island's white sand beaches and torquoise waters, the rocky areas of its coastline, some of its mountainous interior, and even some of the ancient ruins which dot the island.
