The Sagamore and Bourne Bridges - 4K Cinematic Drone Experience!

For the 90th anniversary of the canal bridges, enjoy this compilation of some of my favorite moments featuring the local legends via my cinematic drone footage taken over the past near decade. In the early 1930s the Cape Cod Canal became the setting for one of New England’s most ambitious public works feats. Designers and architects set out to replace aging low crossings with two soaring steel arch bridges that would open the waterway to uninterrupted maritime traffic. Rising during the depths of the Great Depression, the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges took shape through round the clock steel fabrication, precision riveting, and massive concrete foundations that anchored the arches into the canal banks. Each rib was lifted, aligned, and locked with a level of accuracy that pushed the limits of the era’s construction methods. When the bridges opened in 1935 they reshaped life on the Cape almost overnight. Their height allowed ships to pass freely beneath, their broad roadways carried thousands of vehicles a day, and their identical profiles became signature silhouettes on the New England coast. Built with remarkable speed and skill, the twin spans stood as proof that even in hard times the country could produce structures that were both functional and iconic. They have endured for generations as true modern marvels of American infrastructure. Due to complications with my health, I really did not fly this year so unfortunately I have no 2025 compilation.
