The Alchichica lagoon, also called Alchichica lake, is a Mar-type alkaline saline lake, 60 meters deep, an extension of accumulated water with a high degree of salinity (13g/L) and high concentrations of magnesium, it is a volcanic crater lake , in Mexico. It is located at the coordinates (19º24'49.64'' North Latitude and 97º24'13.24'' West Longitude, in the central part of the Libres–Oriental basin, Puebla. Located on a free aquifer made up of sediments such as sand (thick, medium and fine), clays, clayey sand, shale and limestone.
