One of the 58 provinces of this large and diverse Southeast Asian country, An Giang is located on the delta of the Mekong Delta in the southwestern corner of the country, near the border with Cambodia. Covered by the alluvial plain which defines much of the delta, the province is distinguished in part by its large Muslim population in this largely Buddhist country.
