Calasetta is located at the northern tip of Sant'Antioco, a satellite of the much larger island of Sardinia (Italy's, and the Mediterranean's, second-largest after Sicily). Part of the province of South Sardinia, Calasetta has a permanent population of around 3k residents. The town was founded in the late 18th century. It's connected to the "mainland" of Sardinia via causeway.

Calasetta is an Italian town of 2 846 inhabitants in the province of Southern Sardinia in Sardinia. Located on the northern tip of the island of Sant'Antioco in the Sulcis archipelago, it is also an honorary municipality of the province of Genoa. It is known as "the white", due to the prevailing color of the houses.
