Takht-i-Bahi Monastery in Northern Pakistan
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Check out this drone video of Pakistan's most famous Buddhist monastery, compliments of contributor Backpacker Let's Explore the World. It's called Takht-i-Bahi, and it's located near the town of Mardan near the middle of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province. It's actually a complex which includes the monastery, a court, assembly hall, and other buildings. The monastery, which is the oldest part, dates to the first century AD. It hasn't been used since the 7th century, falling into a ruined but well-preserved state.

Listed in the World Heritage List, it is considered one of the most well-structured Buddhist monasteries in Gandhara district. It is perched about 500 feet atop a small hill, about 2 kilometers east of the Takht Bhai bazaar in Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), once known as the heart of the Gandhara civilization, which attracts tourists, historians, archaeologists and Buddhists from across the world. The Buddhist complex and the village, as locals say, is named after the two wells found on top of the hill near the complex, however, majority believe that takht means throne and bhai means water in Persian language. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PAKISTAN IN 5 MINUTE 2019 lll Drone View https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFTf90bj1EY Sharan Valley, KPK lll An undiscovered tourist spot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFLU1IKmmxE Amazing and sensational Fire works at Minar e Pakistan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45TNCVpTIto&t=9s Tour Of World Largest Airport Turkey-New Istanbul Turkey https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUne_z-O_jY
