In this video I will test Freewell's new creative filters just released for the new DJI Mini 3 Pro drone. They are designed to take your Mini 3 Pro video and photos to the next level. These new filters are different to the Freewell ND Filter and ND/PL filter packs that I tested a few months ago, link here:

It does amaze me that Freewell have created even more filter options for the Mini 3 Pro. I guess it says a lot about the popularity of this drone plus the fact that this is one camera that could use some extra help to get great photos and video.

The basic issue with the DJI Mini 3 Pro is that it has a fixed aperture which means you need to change the ND filter every time the light changes. Plus it doesn't have a great dynamic range, for example when you film something bright, the dark areas have crushed shadows.

Some of these new filters help with these issues. Here are the Freewell links;

I think these Freewell models are essential:

✔ The Hard Stop VNDMIST variable ND filter is handy as you just rotate the ND filter to lighten or darken the ND filter. It saves swapping ND filters as often. There is a version without MIST.

✔ The Landscape Series GND 0.9 and 1.2 with a gradient ND filter solves the dynamic range issue. Now you can darken the bright part (like the sunny sky) and lighten the foreground to protect the dark shadows, which helps get the best dynamic range from both parts of a shot.

These other Freewell models are really useful and would be nice to have depending on what you shoot:

✔ Light Pollution Reduction Filter

✔ Long Exposure pack for photographers

✔ FX Series, FX Gold and FX Blue streaks

These filters are perfect for day or early morning or evening shots. Unfortunately no filter can fix the very low light performance of the Mini 3 Pro. As it gets darker the Mini 3 Pro is unable to maintain a clear image and it will have lots of noise.

I hope you like this video and thanks for watching, Brett - Gizmo Drones

Disclaimer: Freewell did send these filters to me (I am grateful as I do use ND filters) however I wasn't asked to do a test and I am not being paid to do a test. Having tested them I do like them a lot and I will be using them. I will do more tests soon.
