DJI have just released a major firmware update for the new DJI Mini 3 Pro and it optimizes the image quality of recordings at night in D-Cinelike mode plus a bunch of other things (see list below).

So in this video I am testing the low light quality of the DJI MIni 3 Pro in D-Cinelike mode by filming Melbourne at sunset on a Saturday night (yesterday).

I filmed it in 4K 30fps 1/60 shutter manual mode and the darker shots were in 1/30 shutter and I increased the ISO as it got darker with the last shots at an ISO of 800. I used a LUT and minor editing of the shadows, highlights, contrast curve plus slight adjustments to the pitch (straighten buildings) and minor noise reduction in the darker shots at the end.

I think the shots look very good although at dusk some detail was lost as the sky was still bright. The low light capability was best as it got a bit darker.

I am glad DJI released this update as most drone enthusiasts and professional drone pilots want the best possible low light image quality. I hope DJI can squeeze even more out of the F1.7 camera. At least we have manual model in D-Cinelike.

What do you think of the low light quality of this drone? I hope you like this video and thanks for watching, Brett - Gizmo Drones

Here are details that I found on the new firmware just released for the DJI Mini 3 Pro and RC Controller

• Update V01.00.0200 & V01.01.0000

• Added support for FocusTrack, QuickShots (Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix, and Boomerang), and Panorama in portrait mode (requires DJI Fly V1.6.8 or later).

• Optimized the anti-interference ability and the transmission distance of the image transmission system.

• Added a two-second option to interval time setting when using Hyperlapse after takeoff (requires DJI Fly v1.6.8 or later).

• Increased the stability of videos when using Hyperlapse.

• Increased the dynamic range for Hyperlapse.

• Added support for continuous auto focus (AF-C) during video recording.

• Increased the camera speed when taking photos.

• Optimized image quality of recordings at night in D-Cinelike.

• Fixed issue: the videos recorded in some scenarios in D-Cinelike flickered.

• Optimized the vignetting effect in DNG photos.

• Optimized the correctness of the battery level indicators on the DJI RC-N1 remote controller.

• Added USB mode. When the aircraft is connected to a computer and USB mode is enabled, the aircraft disables image transmission to extend the time for copying footage (requires DJI Fly v1.6.8 or later).

DJI RC:

• Added support to use with DJl Mavic 3.

• Added support to download photos and 1080p videos to an external SD card. (Panorama photos are not included).

• Fixed issue: inaccurate compass appeared in some scenarios.

• Fixed some minor bugs.
