The Sahara By Drone_ETHAN

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Former DVOW Finalist Drone_ETHAN brings us this fantastic drone video from Africa's Sahara, the world's largest "hot" desert (ie, not part of the polar regions).  The video was filmed over four North African countries on the western side of the Sahara:  Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and Western Sahara.  The Sahara covers a total land area of about 3.6 million square mi. (around 9.2 million square km), encompassing virtually all of the northern part of the continent except for the narrow coastal plains along the Mediterranean Sea.

 The Sahara By Drone_ETHAN

Filmed during one of my trips to these countries - Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and the Western Sahara.

The Sahara is by far the largest hot desert in the world. It occupies almost a third of Africa and stretches across 10 countries on the continent, crossing it completely from west to east. So if you go to Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Sudan, Chad or Tunisia, you can access this desert. Among the most notable populations living in the Sahara are the Toubous, the Sahraouis, the Maures and the Tuareg nomads, who are well known beyond the Sahara's borders.
