Our *very* favorite part of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum DRONES exhibit!

Congratulations to the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum on the their DRONES exhibit, which opened this week!

It’s all a pretty a big deal, and AirVūz was honored to be involved in the effort!  There’s so much to like about it, but what was our favorite part, you might ask?

The super informational coverage of the history of drones? (well, that indeed was pretty interesting! 😏 But that’s not it).

The fascinating artifacts? (ok, we did geek out a bit 🤓 when we were reminded how far the tech has come, but still no. Sorry.)

The model airplanes, right? (well, in spite of the cool photo ops 📸 and our sheer fascination with with them, that wasn’t it either…)

The incredible ‘immersion’ theatre, where visitors can experience beautiful drone videos, courtesy of those extremely talented AirVūz contributors?  Ding ding ding!!!

The DRONES exhibit at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in NYC is actually a must see, for all of the reasons above, and we send along our kudos for their very successful opening this week!

The exhibition runs from May 10 – Dec 3, 2017 and was created to allow visitors to “explore the history of drone technology, from the earliest unmanned flying machines to advanced systems of the 21st century.”

We were pretty thrilled when their curator asked for our help in creating a spectacular compilation reel for their “immersion” theatre.  What better way to showcase the amazing talent represented by you – our AirVūz community?!

With specific types of drone footage in mind, we combed through your videos, found a beautiful cross section of aerial content, and then the super heroes on our Production team stitched it together for an insanely cool 5 minutes of eye candy.  Congrats to those contributors whose videos we tapped…your work is definitely noticed!

For now, we definitely encourage you to visit the Intrepid Museum to soak up the full version of the video.  But if you want a sneak peak (we really don’t blame you), then good news: a promo version is available for your enjoyment!   (And if you’re really really committed, you’d probably also enjoy seeing all of the original videos from which the clips came, all pulled together in a collection dedicated to this spectacular DRONES exhibit!)

So thanks to the Intrepid Museum for inviting us to collaborate, and thanks to our great AirVūz community, because without your amazing videos, none of this would be possible.

We love to celebrate your videos, and we love to promote our community!  (…and stay tuned for more fun, because lucky for us all: those amazing vids keep rolling in!)
