2020 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 13

In the late Winter of 2020, the spreading Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic pushed Italy into its worst crisis since World War II.  By the third week of March, Italy had lost nearly 5,000 people to the virus - the most of any country.  With the country more or less completely locked down, award-winning contributor Mauro Pagliai put together this moving video of some of his best footage from across his great nation.  From St. Peters Basilica in Rome to the Apennine Mountains of Abruzzo, his video stands as a tribute to the stricken country.

Top contributor Peu Ribeiro's highlight reel features an amazing mix of footage taken throughout the giant South American country of Brazil.  Watch it and you'll be treated to a broad range of outstanding shots highlighting Brazil's tremendous natural diversity - stunning views of the Atlantic ocean coastline beaches, interior mountains, and waterfalls.  The reel also features some excellent footage from its picturesque cities such as the great Bahia capital of Salvador, stadiums, festivals, lighthouses, and more.   

As Italy's death toll from the Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic soared past China's in late March, 2020, top AirVuz contributor marco.ghisetti pulled together some of his best drone footage to create this moving tribute to his suffering country.  The video opens with an epic shot of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo formation in the Dolomite Mountains.  Other featured locations include the great historical treasures of Florence and Venice, the seaside town of Polignano in Apulia, the financial capital city of Milan, and more.

Top AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Zdronu gives us an aerial view of the Slovakian capital city Bratislava shortly after the Central European country went under a lockdown in mid-March, 2020 to halt the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.  The center of a metropolitan area of about 650k, Bratislava is located on the banks of the Danube River.  Slovakia reported its first coronavirus case on March 6, 2020, and the government led by Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini ordered all non-essential businesses closed on March 15.  

Top contributor and pilot haussmannvisuals brings us these eerie aerial views of the German financial capital of Frankfurt in the latter part of March, 2020, as the worldwide Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic caused a virtual shutdown of activity across much of Europe.  As the German case count mushroomed from just over 100 at the beginning of the month to nearly 20,000 in just three weeks, the state and federal governments took increasingly active measures to impose social distancing as a means to control the spread of the disease.
