2020 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 25

Check out this absolutely magnificent drone video of Chile's Atacama Desert, compliments of top AirVuz contributor and pilot nevinxavier.  The Atacama runs in a north-south direction for a length of about 1k km (around 600 mi.) along Chile's west coast, with small portions in Peru and Bolivia.  Covering an area of roughly 105k square km (a bit over 40k square mi.), it's considered part of the Andes system.  In terms of aridity and lack of temperature variation, it's considered the most "perfect" desert.  This was a DVOW Winner in June, 2020.

iDrone Aerials is one of the top content creators in the AirVuz community; he was a two-time Finalist for the annual Drone Video Awards, and has won the Drone Video of the Week contest multiple times.  In this jaw-dropping DVOW Finalist piece, he brings us a stunning tour of Switzerland.  Expertly-edited, the video mixes ground footage with the aerial shots, and features the following Swiss locations: Bern, Kandersteg, Interlachen, Zurich, Stechelberg, Schilthorn, Jungfraujoch, Kleine, Scheiddeg, Murren, Grindlewald, Jungfrau, and more.  

Take in these stunning aerial views from the heart of France's Brittany region, compliments of AirVuz contributor Julien Hulin.  The video was shot around  Lake (Lac de) Guerlédan, an artificial lake which straddles the departments of Morbihan and Côtes-d'Armor, near the middle of the Breton Peninsula.  Constructed in the 1920's in connection with its namesake dam, the lake has a surface area of about 4 square km (around a square mi.) and is the largest artificial lake in Brittany.  This was a Drone Video of the Week Finalist in June, 2020.

Check out this fantastic drone video from the coastline of Northeastern Brazil, compliments of top AirVuz contributor and pilot RG CAM.  The video was shot around the Trancoso district in the municipality of Puerto Seguro in the state of Bahia.  Once a small fishing village, like other spots on the Bahia coast this area has seen an influx of tourist traffic and resort/hotel construction in recent years.  This video was tapped as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist in June of 2020.

Top contributor thedronalist brings us this fantastic aerial tour of the trendy SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City, which was a DVOW Finalist in June, 2020.  Short for "South of Houston Street", SoHo stretches to Canal Street in the south, although its eastern and western boundaries are less precise.  Once a major industrial zone, the neighborhood saw most of its factories shut down after World War II and faced further decimation from the planned Lower Manhattan Expressway which was planned in the 1960's but never built.
