2020 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 44

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor and pilot GraemeForrest brings us this DVOW nominated video from the Outer Hebrides islands of Scotland.  The 65 islands (only 15 of which are inhabited) form a chain off the western coast of Scotland, a semi-autonomous region of the United Kingdom.  Shot in the Summer of 2019, the video includes footage of the following islands: Vatersay, Barra, Eriskay, South Uist, North Uist, Benbecula, Baleshare, Grimsay, Berneray, Vallay, Lewis, Harris, Scalpay and Great Bernera.  

Top AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Zdronu brings us this DVOW nominated aerial film of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.  The video opens with a shot of the Most SNP Bridge over the River Danube, then cuts to the Bratislava Wheel on the river bank.  At the :15 mark, you'll see the gilded Hungarian Crown above St. Martin's Church, followed by the Kamzík TV Tower.  Other locations include the Bratislava Town Hall (:37), the hilltop Bratislava Castle (:51), the Apollo Bridge (:57), the modern skyscraper district (1:17), and more.  

Top AirVuz contributor and pilot snorrithor brings us this phenomenal DVOW nominated video from a hiking trip in the mountains of Iceland.  The video was filmed in the mountainous area around the Katla volcano, near the southern tip of Iceland.  The area here is covered by the Mýrdalsjökull glacier.  The ice cap covers about 600 square km (around 230 square mi.).  Mýrdalsjökull covers the volcano, which last erupted explosively in 1918 but which has had minor eruptions in the interim that didn't break through the ice cover.  

Check out these stunning DVOW nominated film of Italy's Amalfi Coast, compliments of top AirVuz contributor and pilot CG Films.  The coastline consists of a series of towns on the southern coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula in Sorrento, one of the provinces of the southern Campania region.   The westernmost of these towns is Positano, while the easternmost of the chain is called Vietri sul Mare and is just west of Salerno at the base of the peninsula.  Since 1997, the towns of the Amalfi Coast have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
