2021 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 6

Top AirVuz contributor Tonycorreia returns after a three year hiatus to bring us this fantastic 2020 drone reel.  The video was filmed throughout Portugal, including the island of Madeira which lies off the coast of North Africa.  Much of the video was filmed over the Serra da Estrela, a mountain range which covers much of the northeastern part of the country.  The video features some exceptional aerial footage of wind turbine installations as well as some great shots of the giant turbine blades being transported on mountain roads.  

With multiple Drone Video of the Week/Month wins, DiamondSky is one of the top content creators in the AirVuz community.  That should be reason enough to check out this fantastic drone video from the Caucasus Mountains of Southern Russia.  The video was filmed in the wintertime around the resort settlement of Dombay, which is part of the city of Karachayevsk in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic.  The area is part of the Teberda Nature Reserve, on the northern slopes of the western Caucasus Mountains.  

Former DVOW Winner FrameworkFilms brings us this magnificent drone video from downtown Chicago, Illinois.  Shot largely in timlapse, most of the footage was shot in and around the Loop, the city's central business district (named from the "loop" of commuter train tracks which surround it).  The video opens with a shot of the Willis Tower, the world's tallest building for 25 years.  Other highlights include the Cloud Gate ("bean") sculpture in Millennium Park at the :35 mark ,the Trump Hotel and Tower (1:40), Navy Pier (3:10), and more.  

Get a rare look at a snow-covered Paris, France in this excellent 30 second drone video by contributor michokhoury.  The video alternates between two of the most famous spots in the City of Light.  The first is the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, the famous church at the top of Montmartre.  It was completed in 1914, following a 40 year construction period.  The second is the Arc de Triomphe, the great monument commemorating those who fought in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, which is located at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.  

Panvelvet is one of the top content creators in the AirVuz community, with multiple Drone Video of the Week/Month wins, a Drone Video Award, and most recently a win at the 6th annual New York City Drone Film Festival.  All good reasons to check out this stunning piece from the great Chinese metropolis of Shanghai.  The video features human subjects perched atop some of the skyscrapers and bridges of the city on the Yangtze River Delta, China's largest and one of the world's most important financial centers.
