elbuhofpv...

The Triborough Bridge is probably the most important span in New York City, connecting the boroughs of Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx.  It's actually a complex of three bridges, the most well-known of which is the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge connecting Wards Island with Queens.  The Triborough opened in 1936, the same year as another bridge which is comparably important to its host city: the San Francisco Bay Bridge.  Check out the Triborough as well as the nearby Hellgate Bridge in this drone video by El Buho.

Content creator and drone pilot Matthew Chirico created this beautiful drone video of a historic spot in New York city called the Jacob Riis Bathhouse, the centerpiece of a park of the same name on the Rockaway Peninsula.  The park was largely the work of the powerful New York City Parks Commissioner Robert Moses in the 1930's.  The area fell into a state of disrepair in the 1960's; the park has been reborn under the National Park Service but the bathhouse has not reopened despite numerous plans.

New York City was once a major manufacturing center.  Much of its industrial base was focused on food products and other needs of its massive population.  One of its most prominent factories was the Domino Sugar Refinery in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, along the East River.  Once the world's largest sugar refinery, the factory ceased operations in the early 2000's.  Today, as you'll see in this drone video by Odessa1799, it's being redeveloped into an office/residential complex.

Surfing in New York City?  Yes, you heard that right.  Obviously surfing isn't going to work in the protected waters around Manhattan, but it's a rather different story at Far Rockaway Beach in Queens.  Here at the base of the Rockaway Peninsula which extends westward from Long Island, it's open Atlantic Ocean and surf's up - as you'll see in this drone video by contributor and pilot Invincible Storm Films.  It's definitely wetsuit territory even in the summer but very definitely surfing in New York City!
