One of Spain's Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, Majorica, (sometimes also called Mallorca), is known as a popular vacation destination for European travelers of all stripes. Its stunning cliffs, deep lagoons, historic sites, architecture, and sandy beaches also make it a perfect place to fly a small drone like the DJI Mavic Air.  Exhibit A is this marvelous mini-tour of the island by Paride Musci.  This video was selected as a Finalist for the AirVuz Drone Video of the Week contest in 2018.

Spain's island of Ibiza entered the lexicon in a big way due to a popular song circa 2016.  It is one of the Balearic islands, a Spanish controlled archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea.  While perhaps less well known than Majorca and Menorca, which lie to its east, Ibiza has achieved recognition for a world-class party and dance scene, considered the best in the Mediterranean islands.  It is also a stunningly beautiful place, as you'll see in this 4k drone video by Zolatechnical.

AJN Films used a DJI Mavic Pro 2 Zoom to create this beautiful aerial view of Menorca, an island in the western Mediterranean.  Menorca is the second-largest and the easternmost of the Balearic Islands, a Spanish archipelago of four main islands which lie off the country's eastern coastline, east of the region of Valencia on the mainland.  Less well known than Majorca (the largest of the islands) or perhaps Ibiza, Menorca has a permanent population of about 90k and receives many times that number of visitors every year.

Mallorca is the largest of Spain's Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean.  This vacation dreamland is known  for its crystal clear blue waters, sailing yachts, cliff jumping and five star beach resorts.  Top contributor eye-catchography took a drone to Mallorca for a week and created this marvelous aerial video of the island.   The video includes footage of some of the island's famous sea caves, its coastline cliffs, and the lighthouse on Cap Formentor, among other highlights.

Dronegraphic created this marvelous drone video of Cap Fermentor, a peninsula in the northeastern corner of Spain's Mallorca island in the Mediterranean.  The peninsula extends in a northeastern direction from the mainland near the port of Pollenca.  At its tip is a lighthouse, built in 1863, which is one of the most iconic sights in the Mediterranean Sea.  Mallorca is the largest of the four islands which make up the Balearic islands, along with Menorca, Ibiza, and Fermentora.

Behold this stunning drone video of the Spanish island of Mallorca, courtesy of contributor Better from Above.  The Serra de Tramuntana is a mountain chain which runs across the northern part of the island, the largest of the Balearic group which lies due east of Valencia.  The video includes footage of a number of towns in and around the range (most of which is a UNESCO World Heritage site), including Escorca, Sa Calobra, Torrent de Pareis, Gorg Blau, Cala Figuera, Cala Boquer, Mirador de Sa Creuta, and Pollença.

Dronujemy used  DJI Phantom 3 drone to give us this spectacular bird's eye view of Mallorca, the largest of Spain's Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea.  Mallorca is one of the top tourist destinations in Spain and by some measures it's the top destination in the entire Mediterranean.  Mallorca is known for its stunning cliffs, secluded cove beaches, and clear blue waters. Check out this amazing 4k drone video of the fabled Spanish island of Ibiza, compliments of contributor Airburner.  The third-largest of the Balearic Islands after Mallorca and Menorca, it lies off the Spanish Mediterranean coastline, due east of the port city of Valencia.  Discovered by the "hippie" crowd in the 1960's, Ibiza is widely considered to be one of the party and nightlife capitals of the Mediterranean.  Outside of the clubs, much of the island is actually part of a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Contributor Johny Kondakjian Photography created this beautiful drone video of Mallorca, one of Spain's Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean.  Much of the video was shot around Palma (Palma de Mallorca), the capital of the region and its largest city, which is situated on a bay on the southwest part of the island.  At the :30 mark, you'll get an amazing look at Bellver Castle, which sits atop a hill overlooking Palma.  Built in the 14th century, it's one of the most famous castles in all of Spain.

Set in the western Mediterranean, it's home to some of the region's most iconic sites. Contrary to what some think, Spain's Mallorca island isn't all coastline.  The Spanish island actually has a substantial interior - with an area of about 3.6k square km, (1.4k square mi.) it's the seventh largest island in the Mediterranean.  In this video from Better from Above, you'll get a bird's eye view of a beautiful spot that's a ways from the coastline.  Embassament de Cúber is a water reservoir located in the northwestern part of the country.  Among other things, it supplies freshwater to the capital city Palma.

Isaias Cruz created this nice aerial look at two spots on Spain's Menorca island, the easternmost of the group of four known as the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean.  Cala Macarella is at the head of a small bay on the southwest coast of the island, between the towns of Cala en Bosc and Cala Galdana.  Cala Macarelleta lies on the same bay, on its western shore.  With fewer than 10% of the population of Mallorca, Menorca offers many such secluded and beautiful areas.

Contributor Sam Dehili created this stunning drone video of the tallest lighthouse in Spain's Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean.  Punta Moscarter is a point on the northern shore of Ibiza, the third largest of the four islands (second largest by population).  Located near the town of Punta Moscarter, the lighthouse was opened in 1978.  With a height of 52 meters (about 170 ft.), it's the tallest lighthouse in the region.  It's located in the sea lanes on the eastern approaches to Valencia, Spain's largest port.

Watch this video from contributor Helmans_adventures and you'll start to understand why Mallorca is such a phenomenally popular Mediterranean destination.  On that point, the numbers speak for themselves.  With a population of under 900,000, the island's principal airport,  Palma de Mallorca Airport, Palma de Mallorca, processed an incredible 28 million travelers in 2017.  By that measure, it was the third busiest airport in Spain that year, topped only by the airports for (much larger) Madrid and Barcelona.

Pecky Necky Films created this beautiful drone video of two very pretty spots on Spain's island of Mallorca.  The Serra de Tramuntana is a chain of mountains which run across this Mediterranean island; their highest peak (Puig Major) is about 1.45k meters or a bit under 5k ft. It's a UNESCO World Heritage natural site.   The Llevante Peninsula Natural Park sits on the peninsula of the same name.  It forms the easternmost part of this island, one of the four which make up Spain's Balearic chain.

Here's a nice aerial view of a well known beach area on the Spanish island of Majorca, compliments of silvano1988.  The video was filmed in the municipality of Alcúdia, which lies on the northern part of the island.  Alcúdia sits on Alcúdia Bay, which covers a fairly large area on the western part of the island's northern shoreline.  The town dates to the 13th century and its 14 km (around 8 km) line of beaches are some of the best known in the Spain's Balearic Islands and indeed in the entire Mediterranean Sea.
