Bosnia Herzegovina is the most ethnically and religiously diverse of the former Yugoslavian countries.  Unlike other parts of the Balkans under Ottoman rule, the people of Bosnia largely adopted the Islam, although the Muslim majority peacefully exists with Catholic and Eastern Orthodox minorities.  Contributor Dan Drone had these ideas in mind when he created this amazing drone video from a trip to this Balkan land.

Srebrenik fortress - Bosnia and Herzegovina (DJI Mavic Pro)

The spectacular medieval Srebrenik Fortress lies in the northeastern corner of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  While the fortress was abandoned shortly after being built in the 14th century, it is one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in all of Europe.  Contributor Tamas Vargas used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to create this amazing video, which begins with a selfie and then reveals the mighty fortification.

An important administrative center of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mostar is perhaps best known for its bridge over the Neretva River, one of the most recognizable historical sights in Eastern Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage site.  Alex Avsharov uses his DJI Mavic Air drone to give us a breathtaking aerial view of the iconic and well preerved ancient city, which was part of Yugoslavia for much of the 20th century.

Amazing Una river

Bosnia's Strbacki Buk waterfall lies on the Una River near the border with Croatia.  It is one of the most magnificent natural sites in Bosnia Herzegovina, one of the countries which emerged from the wreckage of Yugoslavia.  In this drone video, contributor  Emirdzanan gives us an incredible aerial view of the falls on the river which was given the Latin name for "Beauty" by the Romans who  discovered it in the Antiquity.

Contributor Emirdzanan created this beautiful video of modern Sarajevo.  Now the capital of Bosnia Herzegovina, Sarajevo was the site of one of the most monumental events of the 20th century.  In June, 1914, Archduke of Austria Hungary and his wife were visiting the city when they were assassinated.  Austria Hungary, believing that the Serbian government had aided and abetted the killing, set a chain of events in motion which ended with the outbreak what became the Great War.

Spring in Ljubuski

Ljubuski is a small village in southern Bosnia Herzegovina, lying near the country's western border with Croatia.  Situated in the foothills of some of Bosnia's mountains, the region is full of rivers and waterfalls.  Drone pilot Andrej Vištica created this amazing look at some of the natural scenery around the town during the spring season.  As you'll see, the spring runoff feeds some spectacular looking falls.
