You'll get an amazing bird's eye view of Bangkok's modern central business district by contributor Drone Home.  Shot along the Chao Praya river, you will see many of the 70 buildings of at least 150 meters (around 500 ft.) in height as of that time.  As a skyline ranking measure, that puts it at #15 on a worldwide ranking of cities by that measure, ahead of Toronto, Miami, Melbourne, and Houston, among other cities with notable skylines around the world.

Bangkok is Thailand's largest city and its capital.  It lies in the south of the main (non-peninsular) part of the country, at the head of the Gulf of Thailand.  The skyline of the city has followed its population boom and it now is one of the more impressive skylines in the world.  In this video, contributor Worldpitou takes us on a tour of this budding world city with a metropolitan population of over 15 million; the aerial views of the city's skyscrapers are amazing.

Sunset over Bangkok's West - Filmed with a Phantom Drone

Contributor Roderich used a DJI drone to create this amazing aerial view of the skyline of Bangkok, Thailand at sunset.  While the city is considerably younger than many of the cities in northern Thailand, it has grown into a behemoth.  It's home to over 15 million people, or roughly one in every six people in the country.  Its skyline began to mushroom in the 1990's, and today it rivals Kuala Lampur, Singapore, and other large cities in Southeast Asia.

Wat Arun Temple, Bangkok

Given that Thailand has the second largest Buddhist population in the world (after China) it's perhaps not surprising that one of the landmarks in its capital city would be a temple.  And so it is.  The centuries-old Wat Arun sits in the Bangkok Yai district in the heart of the great city of the same name, a bit downstream from its newer skyscraper-laden areas.  Contributor Roderich gives us this great aerial view of the magnificent Buddhist landmark on the Chao Phraya River.

Its signature is the Asiatique Sky ferris wheel; standing 60 meters (200 ft.) tall, it's one of the tallest in Southeast Asia.

As is often the case with river cities, some of the most important landmarks in the Thai capital Bangkok are its bridges.  The burgeoning metropolis is now home to a dozen bridges which span the Chao Praya River running through the middle of the city.  In this video by contributor MHz, you'll get a great aerial view of the Rama IX Bridge beginning at about the :20 mark.  Completed in 1987, it was the city's first cable-stayed bridge. It connects the Yan Nawa and Rat Burana Districts.
