AV News: Building the Ryder Cup Course

When the Ryders Cup golf tournament was held at Haseltine National Golf Course outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, AirVuz worked with the course as an official media partner.  This involved many flyovers of its storied holes to give a bird's eye perspective on preparations for the big event.  This AirVuz News story features extensive aerial footage of the course as well as interviews with key participants in this process.

Trump Turnberry Golf Course, Scotland


Baldo81 created this beautiful drone video of Scotland's Turnberry Golf Course, now named Trump Turnberry following its purchase by the Trump Organization in 2014.  The course is situated in southwestern Scotland, on the coast of the Firth of Clyde.  First built in 1906, it was more or less re-done after World War II.  The course hosted one of the more memorable rounds in golf history, the British Open championship in 1977 when Tom Watson beat Jack Nicklaus.

The 2016 Ryder Cup: Hole by Hole Flyover

As part of its role as an official media partner to Haseltine National Golf Course for the 2016 Ryder Cup, AirVuz did flyovers of each of the course's 18 holes.  The flights were designed to track the very much theoretical course of a ball hit off the tee and landing on each green.  The footage was used by NBC in its national broadcast of the event, one of the most important competitions in golf.

The Tryall Club - Hanover Jamaica


Montego Bay is the fastest growing beach area in Jamaica.  It sits in the northwest corner of the island, more or less opposite Kingston.  Montego Bay features some of the very best hotels and resorts in Jamaica.  Golf is one of the area's many attractions.  In this video from Droneadventuresltd, you'll get a bird's eye view of the Tryall Club, one of the area's top courses.  Designed by Ralph Plummer and opened in 1958, the course has hosted numerous PGA and LPGA tournaments.

Drone Video of $32MM Estate on Pebble Beach

Without doubt, the most flattering view of a $32 million mansion on California's Pacific coast is an aerial one.  Contributor Douglas Thron put together this epic drone video of an extremely high end residential property located on Pebble Beach golf course in northern California.  It's on the southwest-facing side of the Monterey Peninsula, opposite the city of Moneterey.  The bird's eye views of this gem, tucked in close to one of the world's most famous golf courses, is simply spectacular.

Overview of the 2017 Solheim Cup Course: Des Moines, Iowa

Solheim Cup

The Solheim Cup is a biennial international tournament put on by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). It's the women's equivalent of the Ryder Cup. In 2017, the event was held at the Des Moines Golf & Country Club in Des Moines, Iowa.  While the club dates to 1899, the current course was completed in 1970.  AirVuz was hired by the Solheim Cup organizers to create drone video footage of this world class golf course, which you'll see in this video from a bird's eye perspective.

Deacon's Lodge Golf Course: Brainerd, Minnesota

The area of northern Minnesota (USA) around Brainerd has long been a favored recreational area. In the last few decades, it has also become home to some world class golf courses to go along with its celebrated lakes. One of the most well known of these is Deacon's Lodge. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer for its owner, the celebrated Breezy Point resort.  In this video from AirVuz contributor Blaze, you'll get a bird's eye view of the stunningly beautiful course.

Given the visual appeal of most golf courses, it's not surprising that golf course owners have turned to drones to help make promotional videos.  Skilled drone pilots can do wonders in terms of creating hole by hole shots, showing the surrounding areas, and so forth.  Contributor Sky Candy Studios was hired by the Meadows Golf Course in suburban Minneapolis, Minnesota to make this compelling marketing video of the course.

One of the reasons why golf courses are hiring drone pilots to make marketing videos is that you can do the trick that Volare Video did in this video - fly a drone over each hole.  There is no better way to show off a course to prospective players/club members than by showing them what the holes actually look like from a bird's eye view.  This video is a great example of what high end aerial videography can do for the golf industry.
