The Amazon Rainforest is an immense area, covering 5.5 million square km (2.1 million square mi) of territory in South America.  Roughly 60% of the rainforest is situated in Brazil, with the balance spread around eight other countries.  In this stunning drone video, contributor Cristian Dimitrius give us an aerial tour of portions of this irreplaceable natural resource in Brazil and French Guyana.  The Amazon River is the world's largest source of freshwater apart from the Arctic icecaps.

Peu Ribeiro used a DJI Inspire 2 drone to create this stunning video of the Old Town of Salvador, Brazil.  Salvador is the largest city in the state of Bahia and it's the fourth largest city in the country as well as the largest in the officially recognized Northeast Region.  The historic city was "discovered" by the Spaniards in 1500 but settled by the Portuguese beginning in the mid-16th century.  It is one of the oldest European settlements in the Western Hemisphere.  


Rio De Janeiro Travel Film [4K]


Visiting Rio de Janeiro was high on the travel bucket list of drone pilot and videographer Gavin Beals aka The3Ventures, who flies around the world to make compelling travel videos using drones.  Thank goodness he finally made it to Rio because his aerial footage of the beaches, mountains, and cityscapes of Brazil’s famous seaside city is simply breathtaking.  Rio was chosen as the host city for the 2016 Summer Olympics, putting the city firmly in the world spotlight.  


Iguazu Falls from the Air


Home to the largest waterfall system in the world, the Iguazu Falls borders Argentina, Brazil (the state of Piranha, in its Southern Region), and Paraguay. The Iguazu Falls have been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.  The region is home to 257 individual falls, each varying in size and height. In this video, you will be treated to an aerial tour of this magnificent waterfall system, compliments of AirVuz contributor Justin Poore and his DJI Mavic Pro drone.  



Fabio Knoll

The mighty Amazon River is the very backbone of the Brazil, dominating much of its Northern Region.  It provides water, power, transportation, in addition to being one of the world's most important freshwater reserves (as well as its largest river, measured by discharge volume).  Award winning contributor and drone pilot Fabio Knoll is a native of Brazil and his aerial video showcasing the Amazon and the rainforest surrounding it is simply spectacular.

Luiz Jr

Contributor Luiz Jr created this aerial video of his hometown of Fortaleza, Brazil.  Fortaleza is the capital of the state of Ceará in the northeastern region.  Fortaleza is one of the wealthiest cities in northeastern Brazil, and its port one of the busiest in the country.  It's one of the oldest European settlements anywhere in the western Hemisphere, even though it wasn't colonized in earnest by the Portuguese for some time after it was "discovered" initially by the Spanish.

Operating out of Bahia (Brazil's fourth largest state by population), their work spans the width of Brazil.  This is their 2017 highlight reel, which gives an idea of the scope of their commercial drone work.  Created using several drone models, the video includes beaches, cities, people - all the sights and sounds of Brazil, particularly in the state of Bahia, the largest state in the country's Northeast region.  




The Christ the Redeemer Statue (Cristo Redentor) sits atop Corcavado Mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  The view of this landmark situated above the city's harbor is one of the most iconic sights in Brazil, and it's been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage cultural site.  In this memorable video, contributor Droneaventura flew a drone over the edifice, creating a spectacular view of the statue and the amazing coastal city below it.


Belo Horizonte 120 years! A small tribute to our city!

Rg Drones created this spectacular aerial view of the 120th anniversary of one of the youngest cities in Brazil.  Belo Horizonte is the capital of the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil, the second largest state in the country.  Belo Horizonte is the sixth largest city in Brazil, and its metropolitan area is the third largest after Rio and Sao Paulo.  The city as it exists today was built as part of a plan for a new state capital to replace the gold mining town Ouro Preto.

Top contributor Thierry Paris used a DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone to give us this beautiful look at the rural side of Brazil's state of Rio de Janeiro, the third largest of the country's 26 states by population.  The town of Sumidouro is well in the interior of the state, lying north-northeast from the provincial capital city Rio de Janeiro.  Thierry's "day on the farm" provides some amazing bird's eye views of this part of the state of RJ, an area of spectacular mountains, waterfalls, alpine valleys, and horses.

Southeastern Brazil is home to the country's two primary urban centers: Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.  Each is capital of a state with the same name, and the cities are "only" about 435 km (around 250 mi) apart - practically neighbors by the enormous scale of Brazil.  The two cities are a study in contrasts - Rio being the cultural capital of Brazil, Sao Paulo the business capital.  In this video, Mr. B gives us an aerial view of both of these great cities - from the perspective of a drone.

While the Carnival celebration is closely associated with Rio de Janeiro, it is exuberantly celebrated throughout Brazil.  In this drone video, contributor RG Drones was able to capture the Carnival celebrations in the city of Belo Horizonte, the third largest city of the officially recognized region of Southeastern Brazil.  Belo Horizonte is the capital of the state of Minas Gerais, which is actually the second most populous state in the country after Sao Paulo.




Contributor and drone pilot AlexBolt brings us this amazing drone video of Ouro Preto, a city which was the center of the Brazilian Gold Rush which began in the late 17th century and resulted in 800 tons of gold being extracted.  It's situated in the state of Minas Gerais, an interior state in southeastern Brazil.   Ouro Preto was a colonial mining town located in the Serra do Espinhaço mountains.  The city has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Contributor Drone in Art create this spectacular aerial video of Fortaleza Canyon in Brazil.  Not to be confused with the city of the same name in northeastern Brazil, Fortaleza Canyon is situated near the southern end of the country, in the state of Rio Grande du Sul.  The canyon is part of the Serra Geral National Park.  The canyon is one of the more prominent spots in Southern Brazil that are attracting the interest of adventure-oriented travelers around the world.

How does this sound for fun - driving supercars through hairpin turns through the mountains of Brazil(!)  In this remarkable drone video, contributor Wind View Drone was able to film a supercar drive through the windy roads of Serra do Rio is Brazil's largest mountain range.  The range is in the state of Santa Catarina.  Santa Catarina is the next-to-southernmost of the country's 26 states, the only state to its south is Rio Grande do Sul.

Luiz Gerbase flew a drone over one of the most well known waterfalls in Brazil to create this amazing video.  Caracol Waterfall is near the town of Canela, in the Brazil's southernmost state Rio Grande do Sul.  It's formed by the Caracol river, and it features a vertical drop of about 130 meters (around 425 feet).  It's an increasingly popular spot for an increasingly popular ecotourism business in Southern Brazil, which also includes the mammoth Iguazu Falls.


Phantom 4 Florianópolis- Ilha campeche - Praia Matadeiro - Armação - Lagoinha do Leste


Contributor Willian used a DJI Phantom 4 drone to create this beautiful aerial tour of the area around Florianópolis, which occupies much of the island of Santa Catarina in Southern Brazil.  Most of the video is shot in the less densely populated parts of the island, such as Ilha Campeche, Praia Matadeiro, Armação, and Lagoinha do Leste.  The island of Santa Catarina, part of the state of the same name, now connects to the mainland via two bridges.

Rio de Janeiro is not just Brazil's second largest city; the province by the same name is the country's second largest state, with 17 million people as of 2018.  It's a very large state area-wise, and most of it looks far different than places like Copacabana Beach.  Award winning contributor Fabio Knoll created this epic drone video of a very old tower in a beautiful area in the state's interior, well west of the city which is also the state capital.

The iconic Christ the Redeemer statue is one of Rio de Janeiro’s most popular attractions, and it looks great from an aerial perspective. Contributor El Gringo Rojo used a drone to fly around this famous statue overlooking the city (Brazil's second largest and also the state capital) and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.  The video was taken so as to provide remarkable views of the city while keeping the statue in the shot throughout the video.
