Drone Videos of Jetskis

This compilation video was created using some of the best footage in the "Drone Videos of Jetskis" collection at AirVuz.  Watch it for some amazing aerial views of a pair of jetskiers cruising along Lake Michigan in Chicago, some first person view (FPV) jetskiing footage, and more.

Top contributor Icarus Aerial Filming has carved out a niche by filming fast-moving aquatic action sports.  In this piece, you'll fly over the Jet Ski World Championship races held in Volos, Greece in the Spring of 2022.  Volos is a port city on the Pagasetic Gulf (an inlet of the Aegean Sea) in northeastern Greece. THe city is part of the Magnesia administrative unit of modern Greece and the historical region of Thessaly.   The relatively calm waters here make it an ideal spot for sports like jet skiing and kiteboarding.  

For an urban jetskiing backdrop, it's hard to beat Chicago's Lake Michigan waterfront.  The southernmost of the Great Lakes turns into a playground in the summer for yachts, motorboats, sailboats, and yes, jetski's.  In this video, top AirVuz contributor and pilot Drone Dood used a DJI Inspire 2 drone to film a couple of jetskiers shooting across the lake, with the epic skyline of the (not so) Windy City in the background.  As you'll see, the lake is amazingly calm and the jetskiing looks amazingly fun.

Yes, you read the title correctly: jetskiing in 20 degrees Farenheit weather.  Lake Superior is not warm even in the summer months, rarely exceeding 60 degrees Farenheit.  In the winter months, well, let's just say it's cold.  But not too cold for contributor Andrew Achter and his friends, who attend the University of Minnesota Duluth.  They took a jetski out on the Duluth Harbor when it was plenty cold outside but the lake was still jetskiable - that is, before it became completely frozen for the duration of the winter. 

If you want to see what some serious jetskiing looks like, check out this drone video by Dronologist.  He used a DJI Phantom drone to film a couple of jetskiers chewing up the Mediterranean waters of the French Riviera.  The video starts with some amazing overhead shots and then gets down much closer to sea level.  These are some very skilled jetski operators you will see taking on the surf and hitting waves head-on to bring them into full flips! 

The area north of the Ebro River Delta in Catalonia, Spain is often referred to as the Gold Coast.  With relatively calm Mediterranean waters, the Gold Coast has become a magnet for watercraft enthusiasts just like the better known Gold Coasts of Australia and Florida.  And not just boats - it's watercraft of all types, from yachts to personal watercraft.  In this video by Bedrone, you'll get a bird's eye view of the very active jetskiing scene in this beautiful spot on the southern Catalan coast.

The waters off Florida's Gulf (western) coast are considerably calmer than on the Atlantic side.  While the waters off the coast of areas like Naples and Tampa can certainly be whipped up in hurricanes, conditions are generally more "lake like" than "ocean like".  That's why this area has become such a haven for jetskiers - the conditions are nearly perfect for hours of peaceful cruising.  In this video by Queen of the Drone, you'll get a bird's eye view of Florida's Gulf Coast jetskiing scene.  

The title says it all. Take a trip surfing, snorkeling, jet skiing, boating, suntanning, and whale watching in this water adventure piece by contributor and pilot azure_co. Shot on a DJI Phantom 3 along the stunning shoreline of the state of Western Australia, it's pretty amazing what the group was able to capture on what is now considered an older drone. So impressive, in fact, the video was nominated as a finalist in the Extreme Sports category for the second annual AirVuz Drone Video Awards. 

Brazil's long Atlantic Ocean coastline offers some of the finest aquatic recreation opportunities anywhere in the world.  In this drone video by Prime Filmes, you'll get an aerial view of the jet ski scene in the area around Morro de São Paulo in the country's Northeastern region.  The village lies on the Ilha de Tinharé, an island which is part of the state of Bahia.  The island is easily accessible from the city of Salvador, the state capital of Bahia, which lies a bit to the northeast.  

This excellent video by first-person view (FPV) pilot elbuhofpv will give you a new perspective of the great city of New York, which went into near-lockdown in the second half of March 2020 as it became the US epicenter of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.  Showing the city in the happier times before the storm hit, he was able to film a pair of jetskiers plying the waters that surround Lower Manhattan.  Check it out for some epic views of the city's skyline from the Hudson River, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, and more.

Powered by enclosed "impellers", jet-skis can attain speeds of well over 100 km/hour (about 60 mph).  That makes them to fast to be filmed by stabilized aerial cinematography platforms, at least when they are cruising at or near their top-end speeds.  That's where first person view (FPV) drones come into play; when controlled by skilled pilots, these racing quads have no trouble keeping up with even the fastest jet-skis.  To see what we mean, check out this fantastic FPV video by AirVuz contributor and pilot ShaggyFPV.   

Have you ever seen this many jetskis race around an obstacle course, pushing at full throttle, at such tight proximity to one another? We hadn’t either until daring FPV pilot Shoots captured the race in this drone video. He used both the Runcam Swift 2 and the GoPro Session 5 to capture the races and says his quad survived all the water it took on, but barely. 

Name a better way to watch the sun go down than by first person view (FPV) quad cruising around a jet ski. We’ll wait. Check out this sunset/jet ski cruise by AirVuz Pilot and former Drone Racing League Champion nurkfpv. The guys he follows on their racing jetskis look like they’re having a blast tearing up the lake, but probably not as much fun as the Drone Racing League Champion is having flying around them. This flight earned nurkfpv a spot on the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in June of 2019. 

Already one of the world's top destinations, the United Arab Emirates is emerging as a global magnet for aquatic recreation enthusiasts.  In particular, the city's (generally) calm waters offer splendid spots for jetski enthusiasts.  In this drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot obnasr4k, you'll see the jetskiing scene at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa in Ras Al Khaimah.  Ras Al Khaimah is the northernmost of the seven emirates which make up the UAE.  The video was shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone.  

The calm Indian Ocean waters of the island of Zanzibar make for some epic spots for aquatic sports enthusiasts, very much including jetskiers.  In this excellent piece by AirVuz contributor Neil Cave, you'll get an aerial glimpse of a jetskier at the Fruit and Spice Resort in Kizimkazi.  Located on the southern side of the island, Kizimkazi was a fishing village.  Like much of the island, it's since become a major tourist destination.  Zanzibar is part of the Sub-Saharan African nation of Tanzania.
