Drone Views of Manchester

Check out this fantastic drone tour of the great UK city of Manchester, compliments of brand-new AirVuz contributor and pilot MCR_Drone_Cinematics.  Shot with a DJI Mavic Air, the video will take you over the center of the city, the core of the second-largest urban agglomeration in the UK and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.  Although its once-ubiquitous factories have largely closed, the city has been revived as one of the UK's top cultural centers; it's now the country's second-most visited destination after London.

AirVuz contributor Albion Drones used the lightweight DJI Mini 3 Pro drone to create this impressive aerial tour of Manchester, one of the UK's largest and most important cities.  While Manchester dates to medieval times, it was only in the 19th century that it emerged as a major city, when it became in effect the center of the Industrial Revolution.  While Manchester's economic fortunes went into steep decline after World War II, since the late 1990's it has enjoyed a resurgence as a media, entertainment, and cultural center.  

AirVuz contributor admr1985 brings us this remarkable drone video of the UK city of Manchester on a near-lockdown during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic in the Spring of 2020.  Shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 2, you'll see the empty streets of Manchester: the center of the UK's second-largest metropolitan area and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.  While the UK was slower to impose social distancing measures, by the last week of March most of its population was under community quarantine.

MediaCityUK is one of the most ambitious urban redevelopment projects in the UK.  It uses land of the old Salford Quays on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal, which connected the (now closed) Port of Manchester with the Irish Sea to the west.  Located just a short distance west of central Manchester, its anchor tenant is the media giant BBC.  Seen here in this drone video by Simon Whittaker, the development is emblematic of the transition that's occurred in this city, considered the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.   

Contributor admr1985 used a very creative vlog format to showcase some beautiful drone footage of the skyscrapers of Manchester, England.  Manchester is the center of the largest metropolitan area in Northern England.  The epicenter of the Industrial Revolution which began in the late 18th century, it now sports one of the most modern looking skylines in the UK.  Its tallest building, which you'll see in the video, is the 64 story, 200 meter (659 ft.) Deansgate Square.  It was completed in 2018.
