Check out this unbelievable first person view (FPV) video from Chicago based pilot and top AirVuz content creator Ilya_fpv, which was picked as the FPV Video of the Month for March, 2020.   His crazy creative flight over the empty canyons of the Chicago "Loop" gives us a unique perspective from the heart of the Windy City.  The highlight is probably the footage of the Ceres statue atop the Chicago Board of Trade building. This video was also selected for inclusion in our FPV Pilots to Watch list.

PILOTS TO WATCH - 03/13/20

AirVuzFPV...

Each and every week brings a new wave of fantastic FPV videos to AirVuz, and we have the fun job of watching it all to share the best of the best with our enthusiastic AirVuz community.  We take our sweet time to then pick a short list of FPV pilots to feature each week, and we pack them into this cool reel because those we select are no doubt committed, talented, and they share their wares here on AirVuz (this is where the best FPV footy lives, after all).  So be a sport and *show your support* with a Like, Comment, and a Follow.

Drifting on Ice?

phluxyfpv...

In this adrenaline-charged 60 seconds, Team AirVuz pilot Phluxyfpv made the most of a Minnesota winter reality: frozen lakes.  Watch as his quad chases some professional drift racers spinning around the white course while the GoPro captures all of the action.  Of course, Phluxy has no problem keeping up, considering he placed 3rd in the 2019 season of the Drone Racing League (DRL).  For this gem of an FPV video, we of course had to put him on our FPV Pilots to Watch in March 2020.

FreeStyle EDGE - FPV Drone

George FPV...

Looks like FPV pilot George FPV is a 'rebel just for kicks' in this freestyle flight around the perfect office park.  Watch as his rips it up around the empty playground and finds some pretty real flow with his dives and spins, and definitely finding his edge.  This talented pilot spends a lot of time in the air and he likes to mix up his projects, as you can see on his AirVuz profile. Since we can 'feel it still' after watching this vid, we put George FPV back on our FPV Pilots to Watch list in March 2020.

BooM - Ultimate Chimney Demolition FPV

Pircho FPV...

We definitely don't see this too often...actual flying and filming during a demolition!  The very brave and skilled pilot Pircho FPV flew his racing quad around the Hungarian scene of a tall chimney tower in the moments before, during, and after its imminent demise.  He snuck in a few last dives down the stack before the explosion brought it to the ground.  The flight was remarkable, the footage fantastic, and the ultimate edit was a real crowd pleaser...all good reasons for Pircho FPV to be added to our March 2020 FPV Pilots to Watch list.

Following a Golf Ball from Tee to Green

Rosshasadr...

You won't want to be the one person who missed this cool first person view (FPV) video of a moving golf ball by AirVuz contributor and pilot Rosshasadrone!  Watch as he takes off for each long drive and chases down the links to give us all the best perspective on that ball traveling from 'club to tee.'  Rosshasadrone said he's wanted to do this ever since he got into FPV, and we're betting he's got more creative and cool flights to come. This video earned a nomination in the X-Factor category at the NYCDFF.

Sparkitekt

Comic book style cinewhooping

Sparkitekt...

In this unique and quick edit, FPV pilot Sparkitekt turns his cinewhoop flight around Newark New Jersey's Iron Man statue into a cartoon.  This stainless steel giant makes for the perfect subject to cinewhoop around, as it stands in the space outside of Championship Plaza, where the New Jersey Devils play hockey. The flight was flawless, and the fun editing that gave this mega-human mascot a superhero presence caught all of our attention; so it passed that Sparkitekt found his rightful place on our FPV Pilots to Watch list in March 2020.

Cinewhooping around the botanic gardens of Tallinn

Henri_Petr...

This charming cinewhoop edit by FPV pilot Henri_Petrutis takes us on a aerial tour around the Tallinn Botanic Gardens in Estonia. This beautiful landmark showcases both local and foreign plants and offers plenty of greenery to dance around with a tiny drone.  He toured the lush rainforest, the arid desert exhibit, and even the spaces outside, creating plenty of opportunities to show off his cinewhooping prowess.  We enjoyed it so much we made him an FPV Pilot to Watch in March 2020.

Drone pilot Sandfpv created this wonderful International Women's Day reel by compiling footage he captured over the last year of female athletes.  He showcases the elegance, strength and inherent beauty of the subjects performing acrobatic, balance and aerial stunts in picturesque settings, and of course, he does this via his adept flying skills.  Sandfpv is known for capturing very active humans (check out his profile and you'll see what we mean), and for this remarkable video, we added him to our Pilots to Watch list in March 2020.

2019 Year End Edit

Spoony J...

Check out this high energy reel showing off drone pilot Spoon J's favorite FPV shots from 2019. His goal for the year was pretty straightforward: Capture the action and have fun doing it," and we all agree that he *nailed it.*  Watch the footage from his racing quad chasing after Monster trucks, dirt bikes, jet skis, BASE jumping, and more, and you'll see why this drone pilot has plenty of talent, heart, and adrenaline, making him a perfect addition to our FPV Pilots to Watch list in March 2020.

uetatomohiro

Nagoya University Museum × Micro Drone

ueta_fpv...

The Nagoya University Museum was the perfect environment for FPV pilot Uetatomohiro to show off his micro drone amazing piloting skills.  Watch as he flys around the research labs, through the exhibits, under chairs, and along the walkways in this fun tour of this impeccable facility in Japan's fourth-largest city.  This pilot clearly has excellent control over his micro drone and uses that to create a visually compelling tour.  That's why we added him to our FPV Pilots to Watch list in March 2020.
