PILOTS TO WATCH - 03/20/20

AirVuzFPV...

Each and every week brings a new wave of fantastic FPV videos to AirVuz, and we have the fun job of watching it all to share the best of the best with our enthusiastic AirVuz community.  We take our sweet time to then pick a short list of FPV pilots to feature each week, and we pack them into this cool reel because those we select are no doubt committed, talented, and they share their wares here on AirVuz (this is where the best FPV footy lives, after all).  So be a sport and *show your support* with a Like, Comment, and a Follow.

Chasing insane 300 horsepower sand machines!

nurkfpv...

In this exciting vid, our own Team AirVuz pilot NurkFPV made sure the chase.is.ON! He went out into the California desert with his Rotor Riot pals and chased after some pretty capable dune buggies, FPV style.  He used his Project 399 SuperG Frame, DJI FPV goggles, and Go Pro to make sure we all got the best views of the fast-paced fun.  And who *wouldn't* want the wide expanse of the desert for a playground, Rotor Riot as your partner in crime, and some dune buggies to cruise after? Sounds epic to us, so that's why this guy's on our Pilots to Watch list in March 2020.

Tomz FPV...

Just when we think we've seen the coolest bando for FPV, pilots like TomzFPV go ahead and really rewrite the script.  Check out this amazing freestyle flight around the abandoned cast iron factory known as the Lorraines Foundries and Steelworks.  It's been out of use since 1991 and decaying ever since, but since the site is endeared to so many former steel workers, it will be the first and only blast furnace that France will preserve.  TomzFPV made an epic flight around it and hit all of the gaps, and now we're feeling pretty endeared to it too.

Audi Nines FPV Drone Pilot application

vasiliz...

Top pilot Vasiliz created this (dare we way fantastic?) submission to be a drone pilot at the Audi Nines event in Austria, and we're quite happy to see it here on AirVuz too! This vid is packed with epic shots of these incredibly brave / talented / coordinated humans making their most impressive ways down these beautiful slopes, but not just any drone pilot could capture it like Vasiliz did. His nimble manuevers tracking these star athletes speaks to the level of his mad skills, and you can see more on his AirVuz profile if you're ready take it all in.

When you pair up a world class creative filmmaker Neoliptus with an FPV drone pilot like Fincky, well, you just know you're going to get an outstanding video like this goodie.   Watch it and you'll see...the visual effects are *perfect.*  And have we even mentioned the flying? Fincky effortlessly makes his way through the desert cliffs and the rock formations to take us all on an epic tour through another place and time, like only this drone pilot knows how.  And if you check out his AirVuz profile you'll get a nice variety of his other work too.  Plenty to see, people...plenty to see.

Downtown Cruzin

VANDALfpv...

Drone pilot VANDALfpv has clearly packed a lot of FPV diving goodness into this quick (and quickly paced) flight.  He got all cinematic on us when he made the most of the quiet Tulsa city center, showing off some pretty nice climbs and dives along the outer edges of these skyscrapers (one of these is the Bok Tower, which is said to be a replica of the World Trade Center in New York City and was designed by it's same architect). This talented pilot, also on the Gemfam Hobby team, was added to our March 2020 FPV Pilots to Watch list in recognition of this sweet flight.

Cloud Surfing the Sierra Nevadas

nikofilmz...

Ok...watch this fantastic 29 seconds of awesomeness.  You'll feel like the luckiest bird ever, soaring high above the Sierra Nevadas in Sequoia National Park courtesy of FPV pilot Nikofilmz.  Sounds like he and his buddy Carter had an unexpected turn of events that led to them doing some cloud surfing with their quadcopters, and lucky for us, that all meant we got to watch this incredible air-to-air chasing scene that leaves us just wanting to see more!  We'll be watching his profile page on AirVuz, like you, for the next amazing flight...

INDONESIA🇮🇩 FPV CINEMATIC COMPILATION (4K)

Ivan Merin...

For a totally new perspective on Indonesia, check out this fantastic first person view (FPV) trip reel by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Ivan Merino.  Starting with some shots of his resort room, he then proceeds to fly over, through, and around some of the most iconic scenery in this giant Southeast Asian archipelago.  Rainforests, streams, waterfalls - there's something for everyone.  Perhaps the most impressive sequence starts at the 1:06 mark beginning with a fly-through of a heart shape perched in front of a waterfall.

Castle Neuschwanstein during sunset

timfeistne...

Most of us have seen incredible drone footage of Germany's iconic  Neuschwanstein Castle, but never the likes of what first person view (FPV) pilot TimFeistner offers up in this video.  While the stunning landmark in Bavaria was closed in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, this skilled freestyler found a silver lining and used the opportunity to cruise around the castle and it's breathtaking environs. Diving the "fairy tale" spires, he gives us a tour that's most definitely not on the usual sightseeing agenda

Fly Through the Buffalo, NY Medical Campus - University at Buffalo Innovation HUB

flightfx...

Take notice...this is the future of promotional marketing.  In this great specimen, flightfx gives us a fantastic take on the Innovation Center at the Buffalo, New York Medical Campus.  Cinewhoop flights like this make it easy to forget that this footage was captured with a drone.  Instead, it just seems like we've been given the best preview of a new context; the flawless flight and fantastic editing are practically an afterthought.  Well trust us, flightfx; we appreciate everything that went into this, and for that, you went onto our March 2020 FPV Pilots to Watch list.  Bravo!

CHINA'S SECRET WEAPONS AGAINST CORONOVIRUS! EXCLUSIVE FPV FRAMES FROM DRON

kupaaa_fpv...

FPV pilot kupaaa_fpv was fighing the coronavirus in his own way, with the help of his drone and some crafty editing. While living in China, he was certainly attuned to the fear people had of the 2020 pandemic, and he also was aware that this same fear could be mitigated a bit with a little lighthearted humor.  Watch as he flies his quadcoper in a fighter pilot-esque way to shoot down and conquor the virus, alongside some appropriate tunes.  We happily put him in the mix of our FPV Pilots to Watch List in March 2020.
