Cinematic FPV Drone Reel 2020

FPV pilot LouisHouiller treats us all to 90 seconds of the best in FPV freestyle in this epic video.  He packaged up his prized flights from 2019 from some spectacular destinations all over the world, and the proof is in the reel.  He chases mountain and road bikers and freestyle skiers in France, shows off his dives in an abandoned power plant, surfs along plenty of scenic ridges in Scotland, and chases down hills and dirt roads in the Dolomites; for all of this, we added him to our FPV Pilots to Watch list in April, 2020.

Every drone pilot knows that making a great reel requires a lot of great footage.  And for every clip that makes the cut, there are countless clips and tough decisions that are considered. Knowing that, check out this masterpiece from carrerasdedrones: they've packed in fantastic footage of freestyle action over open water, cascading waterfuls, motorcycles and cars, and even some horseback riding.  There's plenty of FPV technique to take in and we were plenty impressed, so we put him back on our FPV Pilots to Watch list in March 2020.

Steven Fpv...

It’s that time of year again when pilots put together their best-of shots from the year before. This first person view (FPV) drone  reel by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Steven_Fpv is certainly dynamite. Some of our favorite shots include the power loop he does through a tiny gap between concrete and the water at :30 and a dive down a massive tower shortly after, plus a few barrel rolling dives down the cliffside. This reel put Steven_Fpv on our FPV Pilots to Watch list in December of 2019.

Happy International Drone Day, indeed.  That's the message that goes with this phenomenal first person view (FPV) reel by top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot elbuofpv.  The reel features a mix of cinematic, dynamic, and freestyle shots, mostly from around New York City.  Drift car chasing, crane and skyscraper diving, even buzzing the scoreboard at Citi Field - there's something for everyone in this fantastic compilation.  That's why it was chosen for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in May, 2020.

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilto François AVINENT brings us this fabulous FPV reel, one of the best we've seen.  The phenomenally well-edited piece features very clever transitions, but what's even more impressive is its mix of types of epic FPV footage.  It's all here - cinematic, tree proximity, coastal cruising, dives, formation flying, and all manner of technical tricks.  There's definitely something for everyone in this piece, which was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in April, 2019.

Spring 2020 "Certified" Reel

Get ready for a pretty sweet aerial tour of Boston and a few other great spots in Massachusetts, courtesy of FPV drone pilot TRONCAT_fpv.  He shows off his freestyle prowess with some epic urban dives around some familiar landmarks, some rolls around some beautiful homes, and even a chase along the traintracks.  Putting the GoPro to work, his captures all of the angles, and even the sunbeams are perfectly behaved.  It all orchestrated into such a great flight we just had to show him off on our FPV Pilots to Watch list in April 2020.

2020 FPV Showreel

Menga FPV...

Crispy clear footage of the all-out action is one way to describe this showreel from drone pilot MengaFPV...and yet another would be simply "epic".  From chasing through both the sprayed powder of legendary Olympian Martin Fourcade and the smoke of car drifting, cruising around the lines from snowboarders and skiers alike, and meeting up with a parachute skier (ahem) mid-air, MengaFPV is there for it all. We watched this vid on a loop and, for obvious reasons, went directly to adding him to our February 7, 2020 FPV Pilots to Watch list.

2018 Wrap Up!

After six months of flying first person view (FPV) mini-quads, AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot El Buho decided it was time to make a highlight reel of his best moments. The result is this compilation piece, which was selected to appear on the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in February of 2019. He’ll give us air-to-air action with fixed-wing planes, slow-motion tree-proximity flights, epic bando rip sessions, bridge dives, and so much more freestyle fun. We can’t wait to see what 2019 brings for the talented pilot.

2019 FPV Montage

The End | 2019 Montage

His friendly well wishes for us all (and our drones) in his video description pretty much sum up the way this FPV pilot rolls.  He balances some epic long rangle flights over mountains with some fancy freestylin over a drift track, and he seems to make use of every square inch of those Colorado skies.  His mad skills have made him an FPV Pilot to Watch on AirVuz, and we wish him the best in 2020 too. (And for everyone's sake, that all of our drones stay in the air...) Find more of Barbicyanide's FPV handiwork on his profile here on AirVuz.

Hit the slopes with AirVuz contributor and pilot flumz fpv in this fantastic compilation reel of FPV footage of alpine action sports.  Watch it and you'll see why FPV mini-quads are making such big inroads into the filming of high-octane alpine activities that can't be easily filmed with gimbal-stabilized aerial videography platforms like the DJI Mavic series.  The video features footage of a wide range of "mountain sports", including snowmobiling, snowbiking, backcountry skiing, ATV's, mountain biking, motocross, and more.

Urban Freestyling Tour

FPV is awesome

Watch as FPV pilot Jay Flies Drones takes us on a freestylin' tour through urban settings replete with high rises, cranes, stadiums, and even a charming playground for good measure.  Whatever the backdrop, he works in every chance to show off boss moves like heart-stopping dives down skyscrapers, or when he brazenly whips around that construction hook at (1:07).  Whatever your FPV fancy, this pilot has brought the goods so we put him on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in January 2020.  Watch more on his AirVuz profile!

FPV 2018 Reel

Lukasz Lew...

AirVuz contributor Lukasz Lewenda is a first-person view (FPV) fantastic pilot, so it comes as no surprise that this FPV reel is pretty dynamic. At AirVuz, we really love a good showreel. The showreel is a pilot’s compilation of their best shots, usually from different locations and capturing different types of activities and scenes. An FPV showreel is always entertaining in that drone racing pilots can add fancy tricks and maneuvers to their reels. FPV pilot PacFPV created this 2018 reel that includes images from all around the world - beaches to deserts, large mansions to crumbling bandos, and so much more.  This was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in March, 2019.

FPV Drifting Reel

Colorado Drifting FPV Compilation

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot nikofilmz is one of the world's best when it comes to using mini quads to chase fast-moving targets.  Not surprisingly, this compilation he put together of some of his best footage following drift cars is a highly entertaining watch.  In most FPV drifting videos, the quad stays at a "respectable" distance from the target.  Not this pilot; see how he gets up-close and personal with these sliding vehicles.  This video made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in July of 2020.

"Naked" GoPro Cinewhoop Reel

My Naked CineWhoop FPV REEL

"Cinewhoop" style first person view (FPV) drones come in numerous shapes and sizes.  While some are configured to fly and capture HD video out of the box, one of the most popular configurations requires some homemade modifications.  Specifically, it involves taking a BetaFPV 95x micro-drone and mounting to it a "naked" GoPro, which is essentially the "guts" of the popular GoPro Hero series action camera.  See what these cinewhoops can do in this reel by Lougedo, which was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in August, 2020.

Summer 2020 Reel from Southern France

Cinematic FPV - Summer 2020

Drone Pass...

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot Drone Passion 13 brings us this highly cinematic FPV piece from the mountains of Provence in Southern France.  The highlight reel encompasses his best FPV moments from the Summer of 2020, and it makes for an impressive collage.  Provence is a historical region which covers the southeastern part of the country; it corresponds roughly to the modern-day region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.  This video was picked for a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October, 2020.

Nine Months FPV Reel

9 months of fpv

Aspiring first person view (FPV) drone pilots to take inspiration from this FPV reel by AirVuz contributor and pilot RUFWORKS.  He shows us the highlights of his footage from only six months of being an FPV pilot.  Featuring some impressive cinematic and technical flying skills, he demonstrates that the FPV learning curve can be overcome with sufficient practice and dedication.  For his efforts, this talented pilot was awarded a spot on the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in September, 2020.

Alps FPV Reel

Alpine Dives 2020 reel // Cinematic FPV

The Alps Mountains are home to some of the world's most beautiful alpine scenery, and there's no better way to see them than through the lens of a first person view (FPV) mini-drone.  That much is clear from this excellent FPV reel by AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot b1z10_fpv.  The video opens with an epic shot surfing over a cloud-covered ridge, followed by an insane "gap" shot and then a shot cruising alongside a snow-covered rock wall.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in November, 2020.
