Schilthorn in the Swiss Alps.  At the top of the summit is Piz Gloria, the scene of Ta famous James Bond movie scene and one of the most iconic sites in Switzerland.  Top contributor iDrone Aerials used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to capture the skiing and partying scene at this magical Alpine spot.

Skiing down the Spectacular Argentiere Glacier Chamonix France

The area around Chamonix in the French Alps is home to some of the best skiing in the world.  It lies near the base of Mt. Blanc, which has an altitude of almost 5k meters (just under 16k ft.), making it the tallest mountain in France as well as the tallest mountain in the Alps.  Contributor Jturner produced this spectacular video skiing down the Argentiere glacier, which is part of the Mt. Blanc Masif.  The glacier runs about 9 km (6 mi) perpendicular to the Chamonix Valley.

Antisana Skiing

Esteban Barrera may very well have set a record by flying his drone over the Antisana Volcano in Ecuador.  Using his DJI Phantom 3 drone, he hit an altitude of of 5.7k meters (18.7k ft) atop the volcano, one of the highest such mountains in the world.  The volcano is part of the Andes Mountains, a geological system which runs much of the length of western South America and covers most of the western portion of Ecuador.

Freeride Ski at National Park Galicica - Ohrid Macedonia by 2S & Ski Macedonia

While it is not as prominent as other alpine areas, the mountains of Macedonia in Europe's Balkan region offer spectacular skiing opportunities.  Most of the country is covered in steep hills and mountains, with the greatest concentrations in its northwestern and southern regions.  Stojan2s created this epic drone video from a ski trip to the Galicica National Park ski area, situated in the soutwestern corner of the country near Ohrid.

Biwako Valley Ski Resort Shiga Japan

Styfly Studio created an amazing drone video of a ski area in Japan.  The Biwako Valley Ski Resort is situated in central Honshu, roughly halfway between the cities of Kyoto and Nagoya.  The resort's mountaintop sits at about 1.1k meters (about 3.5k ft) above sea level, and offers both tow- and lift-accessed slopes.  The top of the mountain offers stunning views of Lake Biwa, Japan's largest freshwater lake.

Freeride in Beiarn, Northern Norway

Zdeno Dvorak

The mountains of northern Norway offer some of the best skiing in Europe, and are much less well known (and less crowded) than the Alps.  The much less intensively used slopes are are perfect for freeriding, much harder to undertake in the more crowded areas of the Alps.  Contributor Zdeno Dvorak created this beautiful drone video of an epic freeride adventure in Beiarn, which lies in the country's Nordland region.

Mount Hutt Snow Palooza 2018

The moutains of the Southern Alps in New Zealand provide an abundance of recreation for its winter season, and travel blogger YoumiTrip caught the highlight of winter fun when he flew his drone over the 'mad spring party' known as the Mount Hutt Snow Palooza.  Revelers cruise their way down the ski mountain either via snow kayaking, proving that the winter in the Southern Hemisphere is not to be missed. This video was a Drone Video of the Month Staff Pick.
