South America ranks as the 5th most populated continent in the world, with over 420 million humans calling it home (it's neighbor up above, North America, comes in 3rd). The majority of this populus hovers close to both the eastern and western coasts, leaving the central portions of the landmass much more sparsely covered. While Spanish and Portuguese are the primary languages of these South Americans - due primarily to the colonialism that started in the 16th century - the lively musical genres of samba and tango are grounded in the culturally rich history too.
12 sovereign states share the continent’s 6.8 million square miles: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela, and the continent is home to geographical gems like the Amazon Rain Forest, the Andes Mountains, and the Patagonia region too. The vibrant, tropical scenes of these South American countries offer plenty of photogenic captures, and drone pilots have been at the ready with their trusty, flying cameras. Amble through our collection of the best aerial footage of these (mostly) southern hemisphere gems to see them for yourself!
