Prepare to be amazed by this drone video of the Tamul waterfall in central Mexico, compliments of contributor Jelipegomez.  The great falls are situated near Ciudad Valles in the state of San Luis Potosí, roughly midway between Mexico City and Monterrey.  It's an extremely wide plunge-type waterfall formed by the convergence of the  Gallinas and Santa Maria Rivers into the Tampaon River.  The falls has a drop of just over 100 meters (340 ft.) and is known for its brilliant torquoise waters.

Top contributor Postandfly created this fascinating drone video of one of the geological wonders of Mexico: the Parícutin volcano.  Situated in the state of Michoacán, it's considered the most famous cinder cone volcano in the world.  Cinder cone volcanoes arise from eruptions through a single vent, which is usually part of a larger volcano.  Parícutin came into the world via an eruption that began in 1943 and continued for about nine years, although this type of volcano will not erupt again. This video won DVOW in August, 2019.

The Mexican state of Yucatan occupies the western part of the Yucatan Peninsula, which it shares with its neighboring state Quintana Roo.  Far from the beaches and resorts of Cancun and the Mayan Riviera, this is rainforest country and it offers an extraordinarily amount of biodiversity.  It's become one of the top eco-tourist destinations ni Mexico.  Contributor Iñigui was in  Sisál, Yucatán when he happened upon a flock of flamingos.  The drone video he took from this encounter is truly memorable.

Top contributor iDrone Aerials created this epic aerial view of the great ruins of Chichen Itza, on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.  Chichen Itza is believed by archaeologists to have been one of the largest cities in the Mayan civilization.  It is located in the state of Yucatán, one of the three states on the peninsula along with Quintana Roo and Campeche.  It was built beginning in the 7th century.  A UNESCO World Heritage site, the site was recently named one of the new Seven Wonders of the World by the Travel Channel.

In this video, Postandfly gives us a bird's eye view of Tijuana, the largest city on Mexico's western coasts.  It's the largest city in the state of Baja California, which extends from the US border to Cabo St. Lucas at the tip of the BC peninsula.  Tijuana is one of the major manufacturing centers of Mexico, and is home to many maquiladora factories.  Most of the video's footage is shot around the city's Pacific Ocean beach coastline.  He also gets some good shots of the giant Plaza Monumental arena.

Award-winning contributor Postandfly shot this amazing drone video of La Ventanilla, a small community in the state of Oaxaxa on Mexico's southern Pacific coast.  The village and surrounding beach area has become a major center for eco-tourism.  In the video you'll see why.  Most of it was shot in a mangrove swamp, only a short distance from the ocean but literally a world apart.  The star is a 4 meter (13 foot) one-eyed crocodile, who apparently takes no offense from the hovering drone.

Contributor Nomade World used a drone to capture a memorable hike on Pico de Orizaba (Citlaltépetl), otherwise known as the highest mountain in Mexico.  The dormant (but not extinct) volcano is situated on the Trans-Mexican Volcanic belt that defines so much of the geography of the country.  The mountain stands about 5,600 meters (about 18.5k) ft. above sea level, making it the third highest peak in North America.  Orizaba is the world's second most prominent volcanic peak.

Top cpntributor Postandfly created this stunning drone video of the volcanic crater lakes in the Mexican state of Puebla, a bit to the south and east of Mexico City.  The three lagoons featured, in order, are  Alchichica, Laguna de las Minas, and Atexcc.  All three are by-products of the extensive volcanic activity in the area, which forms part of the great volcanic belt which runs through the mid-section of the country.  The footage was captured with the DJI Mavic Pro 2 and Phantom 4 Pro drones.

Check out this epic dronie shot from a famous island beach near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, compliments of award-winning contributor Postandfly.    It's part of the Marietas Islands, which lie a few km/mi west of Puerto Vallarta in the state of Nayarit.  The islands were used by the Mexican military for bombings and other test explosions in the early 1900's, forming the giant crater-like formation you will see in the video.  The island was closed to the public due to environmental concerns.
