Contributor Merr Watson is a well known travel blogger who uses drones to tell her stories.  This aerial tour follows this Philippines native and her crew of friends as they explore the beautiful beaches, clear water, and island recreation across the Caribbean. From the Cayman Islands to Honduras, the Bahamas, and more, Merr showcases scenic beach living and island adventures with every turn of the drone.


British Virgin Islands (4K) - Mountains, Sailboats, and Coral Reefs


The British Virgin Islands lie in the northern Caribbean Sea, with Puerto Rico to the west, the US Virgin Islands to the south, and Anguilla to the east.   While the islands are known for stunning beaches, the BVI's are probably best known as one of the world's most popular sailing spots.  Contributor One Man_One Drone took his DJI Phantom 4 drone to the BVI and created this stunning aerial tour of the islands magnificent mountains and flotillas of sailboats.  


iDroneU - Aruba


The tiny island of Aruba sits in the southern Caribbean Sea, just a few km/mi from Venezuela.  Like its sister island Curacao, it is a Dutch territory.  Aruba has a distinctively dry climate and is home to many varieties of cactus.  Top contributor iDroneU used a drone to create this memorable aerial view of this tiny island, and features epic aerial footage of  a picturesque lighthouse, a rusting shipwreck, and a wind farm. 




Saint Martin is a small island in the northeastern Caribbean Sea which is split between French and Dutch control.  Contributor Jonathan Jonderko, who  grew up on the island, shot this aerial showcase when he was disappointed to only find videos of the island that involved tourism. This drone video took him more than 2 months to film, with his end goal to shoot “a more local and authentic facet of the island.”


Los Roques : Get Lost in Paradise!


Despite its modest size, Bali is one of the best known islands of Indonesia.  The island, which lies just to the east of much larger Java, is considered one of the world's top beach destinations.  Contributor tiffany3ui brought some friends and a drone to Bali in 2017 and created this fun travel video — letting us glimpse Bali’s markets, beaches, and resorts, from the unique perspective that only a drone can deliver.


Havana, Cuba by Air

Cuba was once home to one of the strongest tourist trades in the Caribbean.  Tourism fell off dramatically with the 1959 revoution, but has begun to recover with the normalization of Cuban-US relations in recent years.  Contributor Yan Nielsen traveled to the capital city Havana with a DJI Mavic drone, and his aerial video reveals the varying degrees of restoration and lack thereof throughout the historic city.

Roodaap Aerial Videography

Curacao is part of the Lesser Antilles Islands in the southern Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela.  It is a territory of the Netherlands.  Contributor Roodap Aerial Videography created this amazing drone video of Director's Bay, so called because the members of the board of directors of Shell Oil Company used to swim there when visiting the oil refinery which was constructed on the island in the 1930's.

Kiteboarding Bonaire 2017 - Phantom 4 Pro

If you are looking for some epic close-up shots of kiteboarders that only a drone can deliver, this aerial video by Oliver Leyba is very hard to beat.  It was shot at Bonaire, a small Caribbean island in the Leeward Antilles, lying just to the east of better-known Curacao.  Filmed with a DJI Phantom 4 drone, the drone gets close enough to these daredevils that you can read their facial expressions.  


Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic


Contributor Inigui attended a bachelor party at the Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.  The resort was built out of a large sugar cane farm in the southeastern part of the country in the 1970's.  Inigui's drone video will give you a bird's eye look at this famous resort on the Caribbean, which was built by the Gulf & Western conglomerate and was designed by the famous designer Oscar de La Renta.  


Dronecorleone - Caribe (2018 reel)


With magnificent top-down aerial shots of the Carribean Sea, you can see why "Dronecorleone - Caribe" was nominated for Drone Video of the Week and was a Drone Video of the Month Staff Pick for October 2018. The shots of wild horses contrast perfectly with glittering views of the city. Puerto Rico 4K adventure


After traveling throughout the world, contributor Thatdroneview will always call Puerto Rico one of his favorite places. The boundless chances for adventure, the stunning views of crystal clear water, the mangrove-lined beaches, and the jade-colored mountains which attract him to the US territory are all captured in this drone video. The video was shot using a combination of aerial footage from a DJI Phantom 4 drone and ground camera footage.  


iDroneU - Los Roques


Contributor iDroneU collaborated with a swimsuit company to make this amazing drone video of fashion models showing their stuff on a Venezuelan island in the Caribbean Sea.  The video was shot in Los Roques, a group of islands and coral reefs lying a short distance off the mainland coast.  Watch this video to get a bird's eye view of a tropical paradise and see see how drones are becoming tools in fashion marketing.


Dominica: The Nature Island


Contributor la.drones brought a drone along on a trek to the famous Boiling Lake on the island of Dominica.  It's in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, home to some of the finest hiking trails in the Caribbean.  The Boiling Lake is so called because of the greenish-blue bubbles which emanate from it.  In the video you'll get an aerial view of the lake, as well as other epic sights of Dominica, a primary filming location for the 2006 film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.


Trinidad and Tobago - What unites us is stronger than what divides us

Contributor Kenrick used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to create this memorable aerial tour of Trinidad & Tobago, the two-island nation in the eastern Caribbean Sea.  Trinidad, much the larger of the two, both of which were "discovered" by Christopher Columbus on his third trip.  The islands have also inspired one of the great works of 20th century literature: Trinidad was the setting for A House for Mr Biswas, the 1961 novel by V.S. Naipaul which launched the Nobel Laureate's career.
