Doha is the main city of Qatar, which has the distinction of being the world's wealthiest country measured by per capita income (as of 2017).  With a metropolitan population of nearly 2.5 million, Doha is the home of almost nine in ten Qataris.  Doha sports an impressive skyline, with nearly two dozen skyscrapers over 150 meters (500 ft.) in height and more under construction as of early 2019.

Gaza Strip: Great Return March

In this video, a drone pilot managed to capture the Great March of Return, a six month series of protests in Gaza, a strife-torn corner of the Middle East.  Captured by Israel in the Six Day War of 1967, Gaza was granted partial autonomy in 1994 under the Oslo Accords.  Since a takeover of the Gaza government by Hamas in 2007, it's been the scene of much strife as Israel sealed off the territory in response. This video is a nominee in the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards' Drones for Good category.

See the UAE's sharp, rugged mountains and endless, sandy deserts, its sprawling city of Dubai with its world-renowned architecture (as well as the world's tallest skyscraper), camels, deserted towns, and stunning sunrises.  This video was AirVuz Drone Video of the Week, December Week 2 and is now a Drone Video Awards' Nature & Landscape nominee.

Mosul

Mosul is a war torn city of Iraq on the Tigris River. Professional award-winning drone cinematographers Kelly’s Heroes traveled to document Mosul for a Belgian television series. Unfortunately, war is not new to this area: Mosul lies on the ruins of the great Assyrian capital of Nineveh, once the world's largest city.  Its sacking in 612 BC killed thousands and was one of the most consequential events of ancient history. This video is a Finalist in the Drones for Good category in the second annual DVA's.

This was the Winning video in the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards in the Cinematic FPV category and was FPV Video of the Year.

Wadi Rum is a desert valley lying in the southern portion of Jordan.  The area is home to some of the most spectacular rock formations anywhere on earth.  It was chosen as the primary shooting location for the legendary 1962 Columbia Pictures film Lawrence of Arabia. More recently, Wadi Rum "stood in" for the desert moon of Jedha in the 2015 Star Wars film The Force AwakensAward winning contributor Fabio Knoll created this marvelous drone's eye view of the great desert.

Israel's Great Masada Fortress

Masada is an ancient fortification built atop a plateau in the Judean Desert of southern Israel, overlooking the Dead Sea.  During the First Jewish War of the first century AD, Masada was the site of a famous seige by Roman troops following which the Jewish defenders committed mass suicide en masse rather than surrender.  Contributor Nelly Volkovich used a drone to create an amazing aerial video of this hallowed mountaintop, which is a UNESCO World Heritage cultural site.

Moreeb Dunes: The Sands of Time

The Moreeb Dunes in the United Arab Emirates contain some of the highest sand dunes in the world.  The highest such dune stands 300 meters (1k ft) above the desert floor, with a slope of nearly 50 degrees.  Top contributor Paul Vlad used the dunes as backdrop for this stunning drone video, featuring aerial footage of a car driving through the endless desert as well as a model standing atop one of the dunes.  Soak in the views from one of the world's most famous stretches of desert.

Jerash is an ancient city in northwestern Jordan, near the country's border with neighboring Israel.  It dates to the Antiquity, although it was nearly destroyed in an earthquake in the 8th century and later rebuilt.  It bears the marks of having been in the orbit of both European and Middle Eastern civilizations.  Award winning contributor Fabio Knoll used a drone to create an amazing aerial tour of this city, which was unearthed by archaeologists in the early 1800's.

Sjalibrahim created this amazing drone video of Kuwait City, the capital of the eponymous country.  The city is situated more or less in the middle of the country's coastline on the Persian Gulf, and is home to 6 in 10 Kuwaitis.  In the video, you'll see footage of the highly iconic Al Hamra Tower, one of the Middle East's tallest building at over 400 meters (over 1.3k ft.), as well as the city's highly distinctive white and blue water towers, vital for this city of 2.5 million surrounded by desert.

The United Arab Emirates is comprised of seven semi-independent emirates, the largest and best known of which is Dubai.  The second largest is Abu Dhabi, which sits to the west of Dubai on the Persian Gulf.  Contributor Humzz used a drone to create this stunning aerial tour of the UAE's "second city", which has experienced less explosive growth compared to Dubai, yet which still boasts an impressive array of its own skyscrapers.

Lebanon - Highlands

Award winning contributor Fabio Knoll created this amazing aerial tour of the highlands of Lebanon.  Though a small country, Lebanon has an enormously varied landscape, with two parallel mountain ranges running down much of its north-south extent.  The highest mountains are in the northern parts of the Mt. Lebanon range.  The peaks here top out at around 3k meters (10k ft.).  This area is also home to Lebanon's six ski resorts, some of whose slopes are featured in the video.

Iran's Masal Province

Contributor and drone pilot Rezerafizadeh created this stunning aerial view of the Masal province in Iran.  It's located in the northwest part of the country, very close to the Caspian Sea and not far from the border with Azerbaijan.  Unlike most of the country, the region is heavily forested.  Prepare to be amazed by the views through the clouds of the stunning rolling hills of the area, called by some (for reasons which will be apparent when you watch) the "Green Roof of Iran".

The Tel Aviv-Jaffo urban area on Israel's Mediterranean shore, the second largest metropolitan area in the country after Jerusalem, is a study in contrasts.  Jaffo is an ancient port city with multiple references in the Bible.  Lying a bit to the north of Jaffa, Tel Aviv is a modern city, founded in 1909 by members of the Zionist Movement.  Contributor Ruslan Paul used a DJI Inspire 2 drone to create an amazing aerial tour of the area, with its strikingly different core cities.

The Real Face of the Dead Sea - 4K

Israel's Dead Sea, which sits in the eastern part of the country south of Jerusalem, is known for many superlatives, including the lowest point on Earth (430 meters, or about 1.4k ft. below sea level) and the deepest hypersaline body of water.  Contributor David Choukroun uses a drone to advance the case that this inland sea is also one of the most beautiful places in the world.   Seeing this amazing bit of geology from a bird's eye view, you may agree with him.

The Eastern Orthodox Mar Saba Monastery is the largest in Israel's Judaean Desert, which lies to the south and west of the capital city Jerusalam. Mar Saba is named after Saint Sabas, the monk who established the monastery in the 5th century. It was built along the cliffs of the Kidron Creek protecting it from harm. These aerial views show the amazing structure, which is currently home to 20 monks, in a whole new light, thanks to pilot Rea Burla.

Kesab City, Syria

Contributor Whitelilynights created this remarkable drone video of Kessab, an important city in Syria.  It's situated in the northwestern corner of the country, near the border with Turkey.  Unlike the arid landscape of most of the country, the area around Kessab is densely forested and is a popular vacation spot for travelers seeking more temperate climates is this mountainous area.  Kessab was an Armenian settlement and its population even today is largely of Armenian ethnicity.

Here is an amazing aerial look at the Iraqi city of Samarra, located a short distance upstream from the capital city Baghdad on the Euphrates River.  The focus of the video is the gold-domed Al-Askari Shrine, the city's most distintive landmark. Built in the 10th century AD, it's one of the most important Shia' shrines in the world.  The shrine was heavily damaged in a bombing which occurred in February, 2006, during the height of sectarian violence following the fall of Saddam Hussein.
