2021 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 1

Prepare to be amazed by this very impressive pro drone reel from top contributor smakozawr.  The video features a great mix of urban, landscape, and action shots, mostly from his native Ukraine.  Ride along for some great views from the Ukrainian capital city of Kiev and its Black Sea port city of Odessa, as well as some shots from the country's expansive farmlands.  Action shots include some amazing sequences involving drift cars, a small fleet of personal watercraft racing down the Dneiper River, Ukrainian army vehicles, and more.  

New AirVuz contributor Maxim Termote brings us this fantastic drone demo showreel.  The reel opens with some beautiful footage from the city of Brussels in his home country of Belgium; at the :06 mark, there's a great shot looking toward the Place Royale and beyond it the gold-domed Palais de Justice.  Then you'll head to the giant port of Antwerp, the EU''s second-busiest seaport. The video also features some excellent footage of some of the country's wind turbines, as well as some "action" shots involving factories, cars, and bikes.  

AirVuz contributor kino.team brings us this excellent drone video of St. Petersburg, Russia as the country's second-largest city and erstwhile capital is decked out for the Christmas holiday.  The video opens with a shot of the Old Stock Exchange Building.  At about the :15 mark, you'll see the Palace Bridge over the Neva River and behind it the gold dome of St. Isaac's Cathedral.  At :43, there's a great view of the Peter and Paul Fortress and Cathedral.  Other featured locations include Palace Square, the Alexander Column, and more.  

By most measures, Hong Kong is the world's most "vertical" city, and its towering skyscrapers are immensely appealing to aerial videographers.  If you want to see why, check out this fantastic 2020 drone reel by AirVuz contributor andyyeung.  The video features outstanding timelapse sequences from this semi-autonomous Chinese city on the Pearl River Delta; in addition to some spectacular hyperlapse shots of some of the city's hundreds of skyscrapers, sweeping views of Victoria Harbor and even some very impressive FPV footage.  

Prepare to be blown away by this stunning aerial tour of some of the most famous islands in the South Pacific, compliments of top AirVuz contributor and pilot Jus Medic.  The video covers three of the Society Islands in French Polynesia:  Bora Bora, Taha'a, Moorea and Tahiti.  Bora Bora (which is actually a group of islands) and Taha'a are part of the Leeward Islands, as the western part of the Society Islands is known.  Mo'orea and Tahiti (the largest of the Society Isalands) are both part of the Windward (eastern) islands.
