2022 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 33

Prepare to be amazed by this stunning drone video from Namibia, compliments of contributor davetke2002.  Starting at the :16 mark, you'll see the Sossusvlei, a giant salt pan at the southern end of the Namib Desert.  At the 1:00 mark, you'll see the nearby Sossusvlei, a white clay pan which is home to some of the world's highest sand dunes.  At 1:45, you'll fly past the Spitzkoppe, a mountain which is sometimes called the Matterhorn of Namibia, and at 2:40 you'll see Walvis Bay.  Interspersed are some magnificent safari animal shots.   

While the peak of the mighty Matterhorn technically lies in Switzerland, the mountain actually straddles the Swiss-Italian border.  In this magnificent drone video by former Drone Video of the Week Winner Frame Hunters Media, you'll be treated to some astounding footage from the Italian side of the mountain.  The video was filmed along the Lion Ridge, which divides the western and southern faces of the near-perfectly symmetrical "pyramid" shaped peak.  The mountain has a peak altitude of 14.7k ft. above sea level, or just under 4.5k m.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner Kukiis brings us this magnificent drone video from the Seychelles, an island nation in the western Indian Ocean.  Extremely well-edited, the video combines drone (DJI Mavic Pro 2) and ground camera footage to show off the stunning beauty of this tropical paradise, which consists of 115 separate islands (the majority of which are uninhabited) and is located about 800 mi. (around 1.3k km) east of mainland Africa.   With under 100k permanent residents, it's the least-populated country in Africa.

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor curlysasha brings us this outstanding drone video from Kazakhstan.  The video was created in the course of a 1.5k mi. (about 2.5k km) trek through this giant Central Asian country, which was part of the USSR prior to that country's dissolution in the early 1990's.  The video includes some stunning footage of Lake Balkhash, which lies in the southeastern part of the country and is the 15th-largest lake in the world in surface aea.  You'll also see some of the country's deserts and canyons.  

Get a rare behind-the-scenes look at a well-known Chinese production studio, compliments of top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot drew.drones.  He worked with major advertising agency TBWA\Shanghai to create an FPV fly-through of the Shanghai studio of Kudos Shanghai, which produces artwork for blockbuster video games like League of Legends and Valorant.  Impressively shot in one take with a "cinewhoop" style quad, this video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in August of 2022.
