Yorkshire Dales is an upland area of Yorkshire in the North of England, full of moors, hills and ridges.  Most of it is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, one of the largest in England, which attracts over 8 million visitors per year.  In this video, top contributor Hamza Mujtaba uses a DJI Mavic Pro drone to film a Toyota GT 86 sports car cruising through the region, driving past many of the area's most well-known landmarks including Ribblehead, Ingleborough, Horton-in-Ribblesdale, and Whernside.

Whitby Abbey

Whitby Abbey: DJI Mavic Pro

Skydronauts used some amazing post-production editing to create this marvelous drone video of Whitby Abbey, situated in the Yorkshire town of the same name.  This iconic looking town on the coast of Northern England has a long literary history.  Famously, Whitby made a notable appearance in Bram Stoker's classic novel Count Dracula.  Stoker was inspired by the gothic appearance of the town, and in the book the dreaded count from Transylvania strikes Whitby after his ship runs aground there.

Malham Cove, Yorkshire Dales

Malham Cove - Yorkshire Dales, UK

Yorkshire Dales National Park is one of the biggest attractions in Northern England; the North Yorkshire park will see about 8 million visitors in a typical year.  Within the park, one of the most beautiful spots is Malham Cove, a giant rock formation which runs about a kilometer (.6 mi.) through the park.  Malham Cove has appeared in numerous movies, the most famous of which is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010).  You can see it from above in this drone video by AirVuz contributor ckeo99.

Flamborough Head Lighthouse

Flamborough Head

Here's an epic bird's eye view of one of the most well known lighthouses in Northern England, compliments of contributor jonathanrichards.  Flamborough Head is a peninsula in the North Sea in Yorkshire County.  Given the spot's importance to important coastal shipping lanes, there has been a lighthouse here since 1674.  The current structure, which was built in 1806, was the world's first to use color in its signal.  It's still operational, although the lighthouse has been automated since 1996.

Yorkshire is the largest county in England, with a long eastern coastline on the North Sea.  The northern part of its coastline in particular  contains some of the most spectacular beach and cliff landscape scenery in the entire United Kingdom.  In this video, contributor Avarice UK treats us to an aerial view of this magnificent region.  The video includes footage of the seaside town of Staithes, as well as the more substantial port city of Whitby at the mouth of the River Esk.

Here's a drone video of the beautiful seaside town of Scarborough in northern England, compliments of jonathanrichards.  Scarborough is located on the UK's North Sea Coast in North Yorkshire, at the south end of the North York Moors National Park.  Founded as a harbor town in the Middle Ages, Scarborough is now the most popular seaside destination on the Yorkshire coast.  In recent years, its profile has risen further by appearing on the ITV TV series The Royal and its spinoff The Royal Today.

Bradford, Erstwhile Wool Capital

Bradford By Night | DJI Mavic Pro 4K Video | West Yorkshire, England

Top contributor hamza_mujtaba created this excellent nighttime aerial view of Bradford, one of the main cities in the UK's Yorkshire region.  Located in the county of West Yorkshire, it's part of a metropolitan area that includes Leeds and is the primary urban concentration in Yorkshire.  Bradford came to prominence during the Industrial Revolution, when it became known as the Wool Capital of the World.  In post-industrial England, it's emerged as a major center for filmmaking and other arts.

Skidby Windmill, East Yorkshire

Skidby Windmill, East Yorkshire

Skidby Windmill is a historical landmark in the East Riding area of northern England.  It was originally built in the early 1820's and substantially modified a few decades later.  The windmill was initially used for grinding wheat into flour, although in the 20th century it was converted to making animal feed.  It ceased commercial operation in 1966, when it was believed to be the last operational windmill in England north of the Umber River.  Check it out from above in this drone video by jonathanrichards.

Ribblehead Viaduct is one of the most recognized landmarks in England's Yorkshire Dales National Park.  The bridge carries the Settle–Carlisle line, a historic railway which runs through northern England.  Spanning 400 meters (around 1.3k ft.), the bridge was completed in 1875 following a construction period which took half a decade and cost over 100 workmens' lives.  In this drone video by Mike Robinson, you'll get a bird's eye view of the bridge, which was critical to connecting the rail systems of England and Scotland.

Buttertubs Pass, Yorkshire Dales

Drive over Buttertubs Pass, Yorkshire Dales

Contributor whiterosedrives used a combination of drone and car-mounted (Porsche 911, no less) camera footage to create this video from a famous highland pass in the Yorkshire region of England.  It's called Buttertubs Pass, and it runs through the Yorkshire Dales upland area.  The road has been extensively featured in the very popular BBC TV series Top Gear.  The road gets its name from the giant "potholes" which lie along the side of the road, some of which are as deep as 20 meters (around 66 ft.).

Whitby: Port Town of North Yorkshire

AirVuz contributor bumblefalconer used a DJI Mavic Mini 2 drone to create this excellent aerial video of the English port town of Whitby.  Situated at the mouth of the River Esk in North Yorkshire, Whitby dates to the 7th century AD.  During the Middle Ages, Whitby became one of the more important North Sea fishing centers, and by the late 18th century it was also one of England's greatest shipbuilding towns.  As its shipping fortunes declined due to the shallow harbor depth, it's evolved into a popular tourist getaway.
