Drone Views of Saudi Arabia

Top AirVuz contributor nezartash brings us this spectacular drone video tour of Saudi Arabia.  Filmed with a DJI Inspire 3 drone as well as a Red Komodo camera mounted to a first person view (FPV) quad, the video will take you over this massive country, which is home to the two most important sites in the Islamic religion, the world's largest oil reserves, and some of the the Middle East's fastest-growing cities.  Locations include the massive skyscrapers of Ryadh, a giant oil refinery, the Arabian Desert, and much more.  

Top contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot 43lensfpv earned a DVOW Finalist spot for this fantastic FPV video from the ancient oasis city of al-Ula in Saudi Arabia.  Situated about 220 miles (around 350 km) northwest of Medina in the western region of Hejaz, the city dates to the 1st millennium BC as a strategic location along the incense trade route which linked the Mediterranean region to India.  After lying in a near-ruined state for centuries, the city revived with the construction of the railway between Medina and Damascus.   

Top first-person view (FPV) pilot and drone racer JohnnyFPV, who travels the world making FPV freestyle videos, created this magnificent video from Mada'in Saleh, an archaeological site in northwestern Saudi Arabia.  With full permission from the requisite authorities, he gives us a unique view of one of the most iconic desert landscapes from the vantage of a quad-mounted GoPro. This was the winning video in the 2nd Annual Drone Video Awards in the Cinematic FPV category and was FPV Video of the Year.

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot nezartash brings us this amazing FPV diving video from Saudi Arabia.  The video was filmed over the King Abdullah Financial District, a modern skyscraper complex on the northern side of Ryadh, the Kingdom's capital and largest city.  The complex consists of over 60 towers and as of 2023 it was the largest LEED certified "green" mixed-use project in the world.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in November of 2023.  

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot nezartash brings us a nice dose of good old FPV freestyle with an amazing (and very unique) backdrop - a giant oil and gas facility in Saudi Arabia!  It's as if the massive towers, storage tanks, loaders and other equipment from the world's largest oil exporter were somehow made for this.  This is technical FPV freestyle flying at its best, a throwback to the (not-so-long-ago) days when FPV videos were all about demonstrating flying skills.    

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot nezartash brings us this stunning FPV piece from the canyon known as Wadi Lajab in Saudi Arabia.  Wadi Lajab is located in Jazan, a port town at the very southern extremity of the Kingdom.  The gorge is created by a series of streams which have etched their way into the rock.  It's considered on the great natural treasures of Saudi Arabia.  This video was picked by the AirVuz editorial staff for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in October of 2022.  

Prepare to be blown away by this drone video of an airshow in Saudi Arabia, compliments of top AirVuz contributor dronujemy_com.  The 2025 Sand & Fun Air Show was held at the Thumamah Airport near Ryadh.  Filmed under strict safety measures, using both a gimbal-stabilized drone as well as a first person view (FPV) quad, the video captures some spectacular aerial maneuvers by aircraft including propeller-driven stunt planes, high speed jets, helicopters, and powered paragliders.  It also includes some amazing fly-by's of parked aircraft.  

This is one cinematic, 4K FPV video, flown by pilot nezartash in Saudi Arabia. He’s taking us to three very unique, different and important destinations. First is Madain Saleh, the first UNESCO site in Saudi Arabia, oftentimes compared to Jordan’s Petra. Around 300 kilometers north of Medina, Al Ula was an important trade hub for the ancient Lihyanites and is now scattered with historic ruins. Finally, Neom is a planned cross-border smart city with technology that makes it a major tourist destination. 

Contributor NezarTash used a combination of a DJI Inspire 2 and an FPV racing drone to create this highly cinematic piece from Saudi Arabia.  Tapped for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in July, 2020, the first part of the video was filmed in Waddi Dissah National Park, which consists of a 15 km (around 10 mi.) canyon running through a sandstone mountain range called the Jebel Qaraqir near the northwestern city of Tabuk.  You'll also see the "marble village" of Dhee Ayn, a 10th century (AD) abandoned site in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
