FPV Pilots to Watch - July 30, 2021

Each and every week brings a new wave of fantastic FPV videos to AirVuz, and we have the fun job of watching it all to share the best of the best with our enthusiastic AirVuz community. We take our sweet time to then pick a shortlist of FPV pilots to feature each week, and we pack them into this cool reel because those we select are no doubt committed, talented, and they share their wares here on AirVuz (this is where the best FPV footy lives, after all). This piece by new contributor and FPV pilot Patrick Conroy effortlessly combines shots from two very distinctive action sports: speed flying and mountain biking.  Speedflying is an emerging extreme sport which is essentially a "cross" between parachuting and paragliding, in which the rider stays close to the terrain and flies at high speed.  After following the speedflyer, at around the :38 mark the drone peels off and chases a mountain biker through the woods.  This video earned Patrick the FPV Pilot to Watch designation in July, 2021.  

As you watch this video of a buskers festival (a type of carnival involving street performers which is common throughout Italy, France, and various other countries), you'll appreciate how first person view (FPV) "cinewhoop" style drones are revolutionizing how we're able to visually perceive our world.  AirVuz contributor and plot b1z1o_fpv used a "cinewhoop" style FPV micro-drone to film the Per Via Buskers Festival in northern Italy, earning himself a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in July, 2021.  

Talented AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot Flylifeco was in the vanguard of FPV pilots making the transition to a much more cinematic style of FPV video.  In this piece, he takes us back to Colorado, where he began this evolution, for a stunningly cinematic look at the one of the USA's most scenic states.  Beginning with an epic shot cruising up a roaring stream, he then will take you into the mountains for some epic dives.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in July of 2021.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner Hayden Kast is one of a number of top drone video creators who are beginning to incorporate first person view (FPV) drone footage into their content.  This transition has been encouraged to some extent by the advent of the DJI FPV drone in 2021.  The video was shot over the Rocky Mountains, home of some of the USA's most spectacular alpine scenery.  The video also includes footage from a (gimbal stabilized) DJI Mavic Air drone.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in July, 2021.  

Talented content creator and first person view (FPV) drone pilot Drone Mood continues his "Lone Rider" series with this fantastic video from the French Alps.  The video combines footage from a (gimbal-stabilized) DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone, a Sony A7RIII ground camera, and FPV drone footage.  The Mavic Pro 2 and the Sony cameras provide the "setup" of the location, which you'll then experience from an FPV perspective as he embarks on some epic FPV mountain surfing.  This was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in July, 2021.
