Diving Indonesia's Tumpak Sewu Falls

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall Dive from the Tree Tops

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot Ewalt_FPV brings us this fantastic FPV piece from one of Indonesia's most famous waterfalls.  It's called Tumpak Sewu, and it's a tiered waterfall in the region of East Java.  While Java is the world's most populous island, the falls is located in its sparsely-populated southeastern side, south of Bromo National Park.  Overlooked by Mt. Semeru, Tumpak Sewu has a total drop of about 120 meters or around 390 ft.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in August, 2020.

Croble FPV...

Are you ready for this heartstopping dive down the Dangar Falls in New South Wales Australia?  Talented drone pilot Croble FPV isn't holding back as he glides down the rushing waters of this waterfall.  As the recent rains had been plentiful, the footage reflects the magnificent, charging display of free flowing water. However, the falls have been known to go 'bone dry' when the precipation hasn't been as favorable.  Capturing this natural glory in its full on glory, he earned a spot on our FPV Pilots to Watch list in January of 2020.

Have you ever seen a drone video from the inside of a waterfall? Pretty sure you haven't... At least, not until now! Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot airblastr had this crazy idea to fly through the icy curtain of a waterfall.  Instead of just waiting for the urge to pass he actually did it, and the quad survived to tell the tale.  We are told that no quads were harmed in the filming of this video, which was a Finalist at the second annual Drone Video Awards' in the FPV Freestyle Cinematic nominated video.

Norwegian Waterfall Exploration

Massive Waterfall Dive!

VerJan FPV...

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot VerJan FPV says the winds and rain were so intense that with each dive he thought he may not get his drone back again. But he did and was able to create this remarkable waterfall diving video. He was in Gudvangen, a village in Norway that is a popular tourist destination. It is located at the end of the Nærøyfjord where the Nærøydalselvi river empties into the fjord, creating the exceptionally beautiful waterfalls you see here from the perspective of a racing quad.

Clocking in at under 15-seconds, the talented AirVuz contributor and FPV drone pilot tamtantrik is diving a gushing waterfall outside of the town, which lies in the Black Sea region of Turkey. The specific fall in this film is called Asmasu Waterfall. A local treasure, some have called it a top waterfall to see in Turkey. You can see more videos like this in our Waterfall FPV collection.

Diving a Hidden Waterfall

Hidden Waterfall - FPV Dive

This 4K drone video shot on a GoPro Hero 7 on a custom mini-quad is so much more than your average mountain surfing piece. Pilot bjarnerimi fpv takes his rig out across the snow-covered mountain to find a hidden waterfall, gushing the melting snow down a ravine to the lake below. His technical skill is shown off while he navigates the narrow terrain. That, mixed with the location and perfect flow make this an awe-inspring video to remember.

He’s been creating long range, flowing first person view (FPV) shots for years, well before many of our current long range pilots even picked up a quad. Top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot Gab707 is a legend in the industry, creating this compilation of flights back in June of 2016. The 11 day road trip was made even more exciting because the pilot only had 9 lipos and no charger with him. Seventeen flights in 14 locations have made for one fantastic video flying over Iceland’s rough, rocky, water-filled terrain.

FPV Video from Krka Waterfall in Croatia

Krka Waterfalls

Livyu FPV...

The charming sounds and landscape of the Krka National Park, near Split, in Croatia, stood in as the setting for several of the scenes throughout Season 5 in HBO's series Game of Thrones, as the waterfalls, streams, and wooded areas gave just the perfect feel for the fictional continent of Westeros.  Here, top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot Livyu FPV got a unique look at the nature preserve with some acrobatic freestyle FPV flying, including some epic dives over the famous falls.

Formation Flight Waterfall FPV

Formation Flying over Shoshone Falls

Flying over a waterfall with a first person view (FPV) mini-drone takes some serious piloting skill; there's little room for error and a crash is tantamount to a loss.  How about flying in formation over a waterfall - ie, chasing another quad?  This takes us into the realm of highly skilled and experienced FPV pilots.  Like top AirVuz contributor nikofilmz.  He chased a fellow FPV pilot over the Shoshone Falls on the Snake River in the USA state of Idaho.  Watch how he is able to stick to the lead quad flying through the mist!

Diving Vinufossen, Norway's Largest Waterfall

Vinnufossen by FPV

In the last couple of years, the great waterfalls of the world have caught the attention of first person view (FPV) drone pilots.  As piloting skills and long-range control technology have improved, FPV waterfall diving is now officially a "thing".  Exhibit A is this amazing video of Europe's tallest waterfall.  FPV pilot suicide quad donned his video goggles to tackle the mighty Vinnufossen falls in western Norway, the sixth tallest waterfall in the world.  Its four drops total 860 meters (about 2.8k ft.) in height!

Racing down a Waterfall

Drag Racing Down A Waterfall

Sit back and take it all in with this 4K, cinematic, crazy-fast waterfall dive by drone pilot bjarnerimi fpv.  The flying skills are definitely a touch above most and the location is enticing and exciting with plenty of room for epic, quad-busting crashes, but our favorite part is the air-to-air action. Not just one pilot conquered the terrain, two did. From the base of the falls to the top and back down, it’s one entertaining flight.

FPV Diving the Waterfalls of BC

Mountain Dives and Water Falls

The open of this cinematic flight will get you all kinds of excited to see what’s in store from our favorite Canadian first person view (FPV) freestyle pilot, the legendary MATTYSTUNTZ. Flying over the weekend, we assume the Vancouver-based pilot was flying through the North Shore Mountains - Grouse, Cypress, and Seymour Mountain. Regardless of where he flew, the rush of flying up these cliffs and down the gushing falls is invigorating and exciting, leaving you feeling inspired to try waterfall diving for yourself.

Jiao Lung Waterfall in Taiwan

Taiwan's waterfall

JrisYang F...

JrisYangFPV created this amazing first person view (FPV) video of one of the world's highest waterfalls.  It's the Jiao Lung Waterfall, and it runs down a cliff near the town of Alishan in Chiayi County, which is in the western part of the island.  It's a plunge-type waterfall with a drop of about 600 meters, or around 2k ft.  The waterfall is seasonal, and (as you might expect) flows heaviest during the monsoon season.  It's not easy to reach, so one can imagine the skill it takes to take it on with a racing drone!
