AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Prepare to be blown away by this stunning 4k drone video from a group of alpine lakes high in the Andes Mountains of Peru, compliments of contributor Gabriele Ante. The Pichcacocha Lakes are a group of five freshwater lakes in Ambo, the southernmost of the eleven provinces which make up the Department of Huánuco in the north central part of this large South American country. The lakes, which are connected by streams and waterfalls, are about a day's drive northeast of Peru's capital city, Lima.

Hi! My name is Gabriel Ante from Romania. I'm a mountain lover, professional photographer and amateur film maker. After our beautiful wedding, my wife Lorena and I decided to travel for a while and chose to discover South America. Thus, we set up our base camp in Lima, Peru. Our 3rd place that we visited in the land of the incas and didn't know about it in first place (because it was an unplaned trip) is the magical mountain site called 5 Lagoons of Pichgacocha. The Pichgacocha lagoons are located in the district of Conchamarca, province of Ambo, department of Huánuco. Pichgacocha is derived from the Quechua word Pichga = Cinco y Cocha = lagoon. This denomination is precise since in this place there are 5 lagoons between 3,700 and 4,500 meters above sea level. These lagoons are connected successively by the streams that are born from them.
