A Journey to the Top of Colorado Butte

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor Flyboy73 brings us this excellent drone video of a butte near the Four Corners area of the Western USA, where the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado meet.  Buttes are isolated rock formations caused by the erosion of layers of structurally weaker rock below a hard caprock, a pattern which is particularly common in this region.    While similar landforms are found in other parts of the world, the term "Butte" is typically only emplyed with respect to those in North America.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

This striking landmark is located in SW Colorado near the Four Corners area, near the junction of US Highways 160 and 491. We saw it while visiting the southwest recently. In the old days, before drones, all we could have done was marvel at it. With my Air2S I could quickly climb to the top, explore, enjoy the view, and return in just a matter of minutes. Truly a magic carpet.
