Atlantis does not appear on tourist maps, there are no signs to follow with that name. It takes time to find the sandy gully that gives access to the place and requires some physical effort. In spite of the popular name, there were no palaces here nor citizens suffered the wrath of Greek gods while playing the lyre. There was a hippie movement that sought a mystical connection with the nature of Ibiza in the stone quarry of Sa Pedrera (Cala d'Hort). Atlantis is an old quarry of sandstone that time, hippies and legends of the area have turned into a mythical place. From Sa Pedrera abundant material was extracted to build in the s. XVI part of the walls of Dalt Vila, today a World Heritage Site. Atlantis is a breakwater of rocks carved on the sea, steps and folds on which the Mediterranean seeps. In Atlantis there are small altars, carved figures and Buddhas or gods of the Hindu cosmogony painted on the walls. Some say that Atlantis has a special energy, at the foot of the Torre des Savinar, in the area of influence of Es Vedrà. They called him Atlantis the hippies that settled in the small cave that the stonemasons once used on rainy days. Towards the decade of the sixties, the hippies communities began a peaceful lifestyle with some "extrasensory experiences" that should accompany the natural environment.
