AV News: Another Successful International Drone Day!

May 7th 2016 was the 2nd annual International Drone Day! It’s a day dedicated to emphasizing the fact that drones are safe, fun, and suitable for many good and useful purposes around the world. Judging by some of these great videos we’ll highlight for you, it was a big success!

The event was conceived by husband and wife David and Sarah O’Neil from Orange County, California. You might recognize them as our friends from That Drone Show.

Now, International Drone Day is getting a lot of attention. Celebrities are taking note, as well as local media outlets throughout the world!
The main event was in San Diego this year and it was a big success. .
With many big names from the industry such as Horizon Hobby and DJI participating it sure got a lot of attention. One of the biggest supporters is the Academy of Model Aeronautics, the largest model aircraft organization in the world. Their goal? To educate the public that drones are good! In South East Queensland, Australia Infinity Flights Media posted this scenic footage of North Pine Dam. The international drone day was all over the globe!


In Toronto they celebrated International Drone day with some FPV Racing! This is Joe Skully’s race on their expansive indoor course. The Autobotix Dronecross FPV race headlined the day along with Keynote Presentations on the Drone Industry and a trade show free to the public!
The Vermont Drone Users Group also put on an FPV race to celebrate IDD!
Any excuse to get out and fly is most welcome!
At The Pegasus RC club in Hagerstown, MD there were a lot of great RC pilots involved in the get-together!
Portland got in on the fun with these scenic aerials by Dronescape Media Consulting…
And of course our own Air Vuz team couldn’t pass up another excuse to get out and fly!
