Those looking for a high-quality drone with a 4K camera would prepare to spend $1,000 or more. Now one Chinese tech company hopes to cut that price in half.
Xiaomi, known best as the maker of low-cost cell phones, has now entered the drone market. The company announced this its Mi Drone, the latest quadcopter on the market.
The biggest takeaway from the company’s announcement is the drone’s cost. The 4K version of the Mi Drone will run about $450, significantly less than the DJI Phantom and other similar models. There will also be a 1080 version that costs just $380.
It remains uncertain if Xiaomi will release its drone in the United States or just in China. The company did give some specifics on the drone itself, which has a battery life of 27 minutes and can fly a distance of 3 kilometers.
The idea sounds intriguing, but time will tell if Xiamoi’s latest creation can compete with the rest of the drones already in flight. Follow AirVūz News for the latest updates in the drone community.
