Algiers Point

Algiers Point is formed by a sharp right turn which the Mississippi River makes as it winds its way through the Big Easy. It's located just across the river from the historic French Quarter. Algiers Point is also the spot where the great waterway runs deepest - up to 200 ft. or around 60 m. The video also includes some nice shots of the Downtown area, just upstream from the point.

I have been visiting Algiers Point the last few years to drone the Mississippi River and the City of New Orleans and sunsets. There is so much more about this small extension of the "big city" of New Orleans. There are bars, eateries and pubs at the point as well as shot gun homes and the daily life living in the big easy. This day I was entertained by a grammy nominated brass band the Hot 8. Amazing New Orleans sound as they practiced while I droned the area. Just a great day....
