Ancient Native American Intaglios in Blythe California
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
If you thought that ancient ruins would be perhaps the one phenomenon that couldn't be found in California, guess again. Exhibit A is this fascinating drone video by contributor and pilot JordanB22 of the Blythe Intaglios, a series of ground inscriptions by pre-Columbian people. Situated near the eponymously named town in the Colorado Desert east of Los Angeles, the figures are hard to discern other than from an aerial view. Radiocarbon dating suggests they could date to as long ago as 1000 BC.

Located 15 miles north of Blythe, California are a pair of indian intaglios dated somewhere between 450 and 2,000 years old. The human intaglio represents Mastamho, the creator of life. The figures are believed to have been made by the Mohave and Quechan Indians but the reasoning why they were made is still unknown.
