This iconic looking town on the coast of Northern England has a long literary history. Famously, Whitby made a notable appearance in Bram Stoker's classic novel Count Dracula. Stoker was inspired by the gothic appearance of the town, and in the book the dreaded count from Transylvania strikes Whitby after his ship runs aground there.
