Ay Yar Sitamgar: (re)visit Pakistan

Driven by documentaries and old photo books, in 2023 I finally signed up for a group trip to the Karakoram mountains in Pakistan that would leave a lasting impact. The plan was to visit all basecamps of +8000 m peaks in the country, and while harsh weather, bowel fun and fever made us skip two of them, it was still a fantastic journey. Aside from unbelievable views of Fairy Meadows, Nanga Parbat, K2, Broad Peak, Concordia and the Baltoro glacier, the laughter, caring people and bonds we formed were perhaps the true reward for overcoming such physical challenges. Hopefully I can return one day to explore more of this beautiful country and meet some old friends.
