A Drone Video of the Week Finalist in August of 2024, the video was filmed with the DJI Air 3 drone, which weighs about a pound (.5 kg) and is perfect for mountain treks. Part of the Northern Limestone Alps, the Bavarian Alps cover much of Germany's southernmost state (as well as parts of adjacent Austria) and which have peaks ranging up to about 9.7k ft. in altitude (just under 3k m) above sea level.

I spent two months on a solo journey through the German Alps, exploring both fields and mountain peaks in search of hidden, undiscovered places. My goal was to uncover and showcase the less-seen side of southern Germany's breathtaking landscapes. The film I created features a variety of locations, each chosen for its unique and untouched beauty.

This journey was not without its challenges. The unpredictable weather in the Alps often forced me to revisit locations, adding to the difficulty of the project. Each hike to these remote spots took over seven hours, but the effort was worth it to capture the spectacular views from the mountain tops, which I’m excited to share with you from the comfort of your home.

Creating this film required significant time, effort, and dedication. I wanted to ensure that every location was documented in the best possible light. Alongside the film, I also shared behind-the-scenes content on my Instagram page, giving a glimpse into the process of filming and hiking in these stunning environments.

This project is a realization of one of my dreams, and there are many more to come. I'm passionate about exploring and documenting the world’s hidden treasures, and I look forward to continuing this journey.
