Barnard Castle from the 12th century sits majestically above the River Tees. It was closed when I was there so no ground shots. Egglestone Abbey, just a few miles away, is located above the Tees was well. It was founded 1195 and still features quite a bit of the church and other buildings. Auckland Castle is a folly, a purpose-built romantic ruin. I have to admit it looks kind of nice in the sun shine. Brancepeth Castle is still intact. There was a helicopter nearby so I just went up a couple of meters for a little peak. Finchale Priory in a (temporary?) NFZ on the river Wear is worth a visit though I sorely miss the drone shots. Nose's Point in good weather is a great place for a drone. Hylton Castle from the late 14th and early 15th century is surprisingly richly decorated but not open to the public at the moment. DJI Mini 2, DJI FPV drone with a GoPro Hero 6/Reelsteady, DJI Osmo Pocket. Music: Audiio.com
