Boynton Beach Inlet, Florida - A Beach and Boater's Delight

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Top AirVuz contributor and pilot David L brings us this excellent drone video of Boynton Beach Inlet on Florida's Gold Coast.  Also known as the South Lake Worth Inlet, the waterway is an artificial cut in the barrier island that separates the Lake Worth Lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean, about halfway between Boca Raton and West Palm Beach.  Constructed during the waning days of Florida's great 1920's land boom, it's the second opening into the lagoon, the first (northern) cut having been completed roughly sixty years earlier .

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

It's been a two-year hiatus since I last visited this location. Hope you enjoy the new version. Ocean Inlet Park is on the intracoastal side of the Boynton Beach inlet. And is located just south of the Boynton Beach Inlet. 600 feet of guarded beach just east of A1A with 900 feet of Intracoastal Waterway frontage, rental boat slips, charter boats, picnic facilities, fishing, snack bar and children's play area just west of A1A. This parking is free and is on the Intercoastal side of the road. But get there early on the weekends and holidays. The lot fills up fast. For shore-based anglers, there's excellent beach access on both sides of the Boynton inlet, and both jetties are popular and productive fishing spots for just about anything you catch in the surf, including snook, pompano, Spanish mackerel, whiting, bluefish, croaker and redfish. The Boynton Beach Inlet, also known as the South Lake Worth Inlet, is an artificial cut through a barrier beach connecting the south end of the Lake Worth Lagoon in Palm Beach County, Florida with the Atlantic Ocean. Situated along the Intracoastal Waterway offering a playground, picnic pavilions and a marina. This is an excellent spot for boaters and jet skiers to dart to the ocean or Intracoastal Waterway with a jetty and marina access open 24 hours. The jetty is also the perfect place to see the moon hovering high above the ocean or cast your line and fish day or night.
