The town is called Carvoeiro, and it's located in the municipality of Lagoa, which lies along the country's southern coastline along the Gulf of Cadiz. Located just east of the mouth of the Arade River, the one-time fishing village is now known primarily for its semi-secluded beaches, many of which are "hidden" by series of steep coastal cliffs.
